Everyone has to tweak the rules of the game to make Anupamaa look as empowered. Anuj changed the rules of business to make her a businesswoman. Yasdeep changes the rules to come on time set by his elder brother, to accommodate for Shah house shenanigans, which Anupamaa has to attend. Then she goes to participate in a contest in America, the judges excuse her for the language barrier, again things are tweaked to accommodate Anupamaa.... Those who didn't bend to accommodate for Anupamaa's weaknesses, her lack of sincerity and dedication, just perished from the show like Malti Devi and Yashpal. What an inspiring story of empowerment. 
She makes the whole world accommodate for Shah House, but will never learn the adequate skills required for the job, dedicate time, or try to make a genuine effort to earn her place like everyone else. She wants to be called as a symbol of empowerment, but will not transcend her limitations to become actually empowered. Perhaps because once you transcend those boundaries, you also leave behind the vulnerabilities, that kept you in a weaker position socially & financially .. As a result, you also leave behind the sympathy arising from those vulnerabilities. This quest to seek eternal sympathy has brought this character to a point where she looks as an ungrateful, lier with a perpetual victimhood mentality. She wants to represent every woman out there. Her failure is apparently every woman's failure. WOW... Big words. But isn't it a grave injustice to tell women that you can have whatever you wish without making an ounce of effort to learn skills? That there will be people waiting out there with open arms to help you out of your mess just because you are so good, so innocent. So good that nothing good has happened in this world before you. That people will be besotted by your goodness, your kind words, and your tragic story and will lay the red carpet for you.. What an absolutely flawed message is this !!! A once victim of circumstances, robbed of opportunities Anupamaa, stands where she does not because of the lost chances, but because she let go of every golden opportunity that was given to her on the platter. Today she is not the victim of circumstances. She is a victim of her non-serious attitude towards life, her ego, and her sheer lack of willingness to learn, be it skills or life lessons.
