If Raji returned home after eloping and Kannan fiasco, she still would have been in a better position. Muthuvel would have definitely let it go and accepted Raji. What Raji said was true few weeks ago, that she is dying slowly after marriage. Kathir is showing his anger on her, From Pandian’s actions he thinks very low of Raji. Though others are nice to her, no one seem to care how she really feels, whether she feels accepted, comfortable or not. Once again I am reiterating this, Gomathi needs to pay the price for what she did to Kathir-Raji. The writers either need to show Kathir-Raji going forward with the relationship, or show them separating and moving on. Making them or relegating them as side characters or background features is a big injustice to these characters.

As for Palanivel, once again I am saying this, the guy needs to leave Pandian household and move back with his brothers. They would happily welcome him and he would be treated much better than how gets treated by Pandian or Gomathi.
So Palanivel asks to get him married, Pandian ridicules him, asks him what’s the hurry etc. but Saravanan’s (who is younger to Palanivel) marriage doesn’t happen, its the end of the world for Pandian and takes others in the family to task, blames them for Saravanan’s misfortune. This is what is called being a hypocrite.

Saravanan too, who already had loved someone, has talked to the girl in the past, write letters and poems for her was not able to hold a conversation with this new girl Akila at the Cafe? How contradictory the entire thing was!

Agree with you all, I think Saranya is going to be a force to reckon with, to dispel any stereotypical notions Pandiyan/Gomathi may have about traditional/arranged brides being more demure etc. Well, they are in for a rude awakening! Looking forward to her mum (Gauthami)'s performance as well, she's played various villainous roles throughout the early 2000s.

I think Pandiyan's tantrums/aloofness towards his family/Gomathi has seriously done a number on the kids - look at the way their sons treat their significant others (yes, looking at you Senthil, even though you may have 'patched things up' with Meena, I was so annoyed at his blaming Meena for Saravanan's alliances turning sour - didn't you play a role in that? And Saravanan dumping his ex, please don't throw Saranya down the bus like that, just because your dad said so.)

Need more scenes featuring the Vels - but not just to stir up trouble.

I watched the Friday and Saturday’s episodes in Hotstar already. What a SNOOZEFEST this whole Swayamvaram was? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

They didn’t show any other scene other than this bore fest. Kathir, Raji, Aradi, Vel family, Senthil were all mossing.
I am sick and tired of Meena’s lame comments in the name of comedy and her laughing at Thangamayil’s name.

So Sharanya’s character’s name is Thangamayil who looks like not too keen to marry Saravanan, even called him not so good looking. Even at the end of Saturday’s episode when the moderator asked if she liked Saravanan, her mother didn’t let her answer and I could sense some tension and anxiety in her. I also find Thangamayil’s parents - Manikkam and Bakiyam to be fishy. Its as of they have something huge to hide or they purposely wwre sent to the Swayamvar to trap Pandian Family. If it is so, I don’t them going after Pandian, Gomathi, even Meena, Senthil, but leave Saravanan, Palanivel, Kathir, Raji and Arasi alone

That said, Saravanan- Thangamayil marriage is not going to happen that easily as there will be hurdles. Writing and the production house will stretch the marriage track until Pandian’s last day (50th day) of the vow

At this time Raji is turning out to be the best DIL inspite of coming from a very rich family who realizes her mistake, regrets what she did, continues to pay the price for her mistakes.

Also what’s wrong in taking Senthil and Kathir when Pandian happily invited Meena to join them? Though he asked Raji to come along, she was decent enough to say No because Arasi would feel left out,
Let me see what Pandian dies when he gets to know what Gomathi did with Kathir and Raji. How can this woman walk around without any guilt after destroying 2 lives like that?

Not a great first impression about Thangamyil as a character from the last 2 episodes and its even worse on the characters Manikkam and Bakiyam who are her parents. As for the actors, since all 3 are new, I will wait for sometime to comment on their acting.

Raji is a good girl. From the first, she used to fight only with Kathir, but otherwise was not mental like Kumarvelu about the Pandian family. I hope she continues her studies and doesn't transition into a sari-wearing homely DIL.

Did you see Friday and Saturday’s episodes? (March 29th and 30th) Neither Kathir, nor Raji was shown both days. Aradi, Senthil, entire Vel family went missing

This show is all about Saravanan’s marriage, Meena, the two goody shoes, Pandian’s hypocrisy, Gomathi’s stupidity, Palanivel, the scapegoat while others are just props

I knew tgey used Kathir- Raji marriage to boost up the TRPs. Once it went up both have become side characters. They have 1 scene together every week that too in the presence of either Meena or Gomathi.
Even the scene where Pandian being arrogant, rude, disgusting commenting on how spending on Raji is waste of money, Kathir watching her cry, following her to college, asking his friends to find him a job, ended abruptly. They did not show Raji or Kathir reflecting on it, instead Saravanan’s Swayamvaram toom precedence and half an episode went on Pandian deciding who is going to go to the Swayamvaram with him, Gomathi and Saravanan.
Why can’t they give a monologue to Raji or Kathir on what’s going with their lives and atleast 1 de ent conversation on what their plan for future is. If they will give this marriage, a try or go their separate ways. Bit Nooooooo, that’s not important because they are just side characters unlike Meena or Pandian or Gomathi

Yaaruku indha swayamvaram? Koocha swabavam Gomathi and uzhaipaali Pandian ka? They didn't let Saravana speak anything. Equally, Manickam and Bhagyam also didn't let Mayil speak.

Manickam appa ulloru vevasaiye and vyabharam nalla irrukamum nu nenaikiraru. Bhagyam amma ku avange sonnadhu Pandian speech copy paste nu theriliyama. Idhu mouna raagam movie madhari pogapudhu nu nenaikiren. Illena Thangamayil is opposite of what she presents herself, S1 Meena madhari.

They didn't even show Saravana much in today's episode until the end. It was Pandian, Gomathi, and Meena.

Palani is like S1 Kumaresan maama, only for comedy, and a side piece. Though there is a Kumaresan maama in this season, he is boring, hence Palani for the laughs. We should not expect his character to be a part of the family, just the family jester.

I guess now it will be all about Saravana and Thangamayil pre-wedding, wedding, and post-wedding scenarios. With an ample sprinkling of Pandian-Gomathi, Meena, and Palani-mockery.

I want Thangamayil to not be a mayil but a kalugu, and tear the family apart. Let's see what Pandian does.

This week I have not been watching properly. I watched today's episode after seeing your comment. Yes, it is damn boring.

This swayavaram is another forced wedding masquerading as parent's choice wedding. Saravana is a nice guy, so I am hoping Mayil is not a bad person or a fraud but someone who doesn't like the way Pandian's house operates. I want her to dislike Gomathi.

Pandian should have taken Senthil and Meena together. Or tell Meena to go to her work, she seems to taking leaves often. Meena is the third wheel in all relationships including hers since Senthil doesn't seem to be more into her.

I got another pun! Thangamayil is not mayil but puyal. Pandian veete eppadi alaravidira nu paapom!

They better show Kathir-Raji scenes or else they will lose audience.

At this point, I think writers have no actual story to take the show forward except some kind of marriage for each child. After Saravanan- Thangamayil’s marriage which will be stretched for the next months (50 days according to Pandian’s vow) next will be Arasi’s marriage

They get all these young couples get married, but will focus only on Gomathi- Pandian’s relationship

Meena and Senthil are more worried about Saravanan’s marriage than making their own relationship strong. Infact Meena wants to het involved in everyone’s lives in Pandian household, solve their problems and side by side solve all the world problems, exactly like Dhanam

I don’t even know which direction Kathir- Raji relationship towards, absolutely vague, no clarity and both hardly talk, if they do end up fighting which is getting boring. It was bad on the story writer to show 2 college going kids (less than 21) to have gotten married and for ed into the relationship when they have not even completed their education, have no jobs/career path. Gomathi acted like a fool just like when she eloped and married Pandian 30 years ago when she was a teenager. I still don’t understand what she saw in Pandian to have eloped Probably this is what is the meanimg for “ Love is Blind”

Now don’t feel good about Saravanan- Thangamayil’s marriage too. The girl seem totally disinterested, doesn’t want to get married but being forced into just like how Saravanan has no voice but being forced to marry.

Saravanan-Thangamayil - forced marriage from both sides

Senthil- Meena- Their love marriage looks very shallow

Kathir- Raji- Forced by Dimwit Gomathi to marry each other to save her brother’s honor (This must be the crappiest reason to force them to marry)

Not sure what’s going to happen in Arasi’s case. As for Kuzhali, no one knows if she is happy or not, no depth in the character.

All I can say is that Pandian-Gomathi come across as illiterate, ignorant dimwits who think they have better solutions for all the problems than anyone else in that household. This is not even patriarchy, Pandian is a dictator while Gomathi is his accomplice

Even if they show Kathir- Raji scenes, its few and far, they already lost some audience as the story is moving at snail’s pace, fans have lost all patience.
