Honestly, as far as Bollywood copying goes this is one of the tamer ones.  Specially compared to some more specific sequences or actions. Unfortunately slapping is a staple of confrontational scenes.  And I’m sure the slap/faint combo has happened money times too.  

I haven’t seen TBMUJ yet but I get the feeling Shahid’s intent here was to shut her off.  Not excusing slapping a woman in anyway but the context might make a difference.

Isn't this done to stop the robot from destroying the city or something (haven't watched the movie but I read the review)

So, there's nothing to copy. The scenes are very different.
