But had they shown some buildup with Dev-Armaan, and then introduced Abhira when they reached at a dead end, I feel it could have served better.

But vhi fir limelight saari FL ko deni hogi aur they definetely wouldn't have someone to write complete courtroom drama so jo bhi 7-8 dialogues they wrote,they gave to Ab..

I am guessing they are slowly showing him drifting away from family and more towards Abhira. When she is his wife for real, he will grow a spine for her and support her. That's the difference between Armaan and other MLs. They start off as alpha males crazy for heroine , but ultimately sacrifice them for family. He started off as a spineless guy desperate for his family's validation, but will eventually find family in Abhira.

I still feel their major separation in future won't be coz of him. Abhira will do the sacrifice for some reason ans leave him.
