The og story had a positive character who was ML's cousin sister (Devi Tai)'s husband and he was also the mentor/professor of FL. The villains in the og gave a lot of trouble to that guy and tortured him too. I think Dev is his counterpart here. So he will be positive and will have a significant role here. Ab and Dev will have a lot of plots together later. Dev is an important character in the story. I do not think they will make him negative.
