This song basically highlights unconditional love. Since Meerabai is one of the most revered saints of Bhakti bhavna in our country, I used this video instead of the other official one as it seemed more apt to highlight the pure, devotional/soulful love that transcends all boundaries. It also shows incidents that are usually mentioned when narrating about Meerabai, wherein her in-laws, who were angered with her unparalleled love for her sakha over Bhoj Raj, actually tried to poison her and had a snake bite her but Kanhaji's krupa saved her from all harm.

Ahhh, Walk down the memory lane of childhood.

Even as a kid I wondered what did "Bhaglas ka" meant ? Did the witer use the Hindi word "Bhaag" (run) instead of Marathi word or is there some other meaning ?

Yes, not sure if it was poetic liberty or there is a word Bhaglas in any Marathi dialect.

भागणे (intransitive verb derived from Saṃskṛta dhātu भञ्ज्):

(1) To tire or weary; to get exhausted or spent.

(2) figuratively; To bend, yield, fail, give way.

(3) To sink under old age or disease.

(4) figuratively and laxly; To yield to; to be disposed of by the force or virtue of; to be removed or put away by.

Moon, Mr. Moon, are you worn out?"

In this song from Marathi musical theatre, set to Rāga Jilhā - Jaṅgalā, the military hero Dhairyadhara refers to the medal on his headdress as the moon, thinking about his soldiers murmuring about feelings between him and his attendant Vanamālā.

Lyrics

Bhālīṃ candra ase dharilā

Nāçe smara-sāgara-velā

On my forehead, the moon is held

Love's ocean's tide dances

Bolā caturā bolavī candra-kalā

Kaiseṃ madana-baleṃ mañju-mañjulā

Vanamālā bālā dāvī lajjā gālāṃ smara-līlā

Talk! The clever crescent moon causes you to talk

How, with Love's power, softer than soft!

The girl Vanamālā displays blushes on her cheeks, Love's game

Kindly unlock the Asha Bhosle birthday thread and I'll edit my list of her songs to add this one.

Forgive me if my telescope doesn't detect every song from Mānāpamāna that metaphorizes the Moon and the Sun! The densest packing of luminary fuel-matter is probably in this song in Rāga Pahāḍī - Māṇḍa, in which Bhāminī-as-Vanamālā confesses her love to Dhairyadhara.

Lyrics

Śaśi-sūrya-prabhā gaganācī

Hī dāsī bhūmi-talāvaricī

Moon's or Sun's brilliance belongs to the sky

This servant belongs to Earth's surface

Mukha-bhānu-varā

Bhāla-himakarā

Sparśāyā

Na dhaje hī kāyā

He caraṇa malā

Ravi-candra-kalā

Sevā yogya game yāñcī

The face's best Sun

The forehead's Moon (medal)

To touch them

This body doesn't dare

These feet are for me

Sun and crescent Moon

Service to them seems appropriate

In her first song in the first act of Mānāpamāna, set to Rāga YamanaKalyāṇa, Bhāminī asserts that marriageable Night, decked in stars, naturally rejects the setting Sun (bravery) for the rising Moon (wealth).

Lyrics

Hā ṭakamaka pāhī sūrya rajani-mukha lāla lāla

Pari tī naca zāī zavaḷi mhaṇata hā kāḷa kāḷa

At the Night's face stares this Sun, red, red

Yet she doesn't go closer, saying, "He's Death, Death!"

Tanu-varī tārā'laṃkāra

Tyāta bhara phāra

Indu hota, tyāsi ghālita māḷa

On her body, star-ornaments

In them, much value

The Moon appearing, she garlands him

Lyrics

Candrikā hī zaṇuṃ ṭhevi yā sneheṃ kamal'āṅgaṇīṃ

Kumuda-bāndhava śyāmalā meghā taskara mānonī

She's like moonlight, placed affectionately in this lotuses' yard

By the white waterlily's relative (Moon), considering the swarthy clouds robbers

Candra-sadana-nabha-maṇḍalā meghāṃnī veḍhiyaleṃ

Śobhā-dhana vipula teṃ lapavitāṃ kopeṃ bharaleṃ

Śodhita vegeṃ daśa-diśā bhūvarī sakala āleṃ

Ātāṃ nikareṃ sarasāvaleṃ disata hī yā kṣaṇīṃ

Clouds surrounded the Moon's residence, the sky's sphere

When he hid that expansive wealth of elegance, they swelled with fury

Searching rapidly in ten directions, to the ground they all came

Now, uncontrollably, they've moved in, seeing her at this moment
