I just hope that they don't show it in such a way that questions everything good about him. They have significantly invested in building the love track of Ram Sita too so I'm sure even if it is shown it will be shown in a different way.. Because major versions of Ramayan and Ramcharitmanas ends with Ram's coronation with Luv kush and Siya.. In Ramcharitmanas even agnipariksha is not to test purity but to swap the original sita.. due to multiple ideologies there is always a question about the authenticity of Uttar Kand in Ramayan.. but I really hope they don't end up showing something that questions our belief system because till date Ram - Sita are ideals for true love and devotion.. let's hope for the best

@ bold Actually not. LuvKush are born in Uttar Kand (even the pregnancy of Seeta is revealed in Uttar Kand), so if we assume that Bal Kand and Uttar Kand are an interpolation, then Ramayana ends with coronation of Ram Seeta happily ever after, but no Luv Kush

In Ramayana, there is no Agni Pareeksha, but AgniDah where Seeta ma wants to self immolate after hearing the harsh words of Ram

Also Ramanand Sagar has Maya Sita thing which is even more confusing.

Did Sita Ma forgive Ramji for the abandonment.? I can now understand how difficult it is to be a good king for people.

In a way she didn't forgive that's why after revelation of father to Lav Kush, acceptance by Ramji as his heirs ,she called her mother ,Bhoomaata ,asked her mother to take her away if she remained pure and disappeared into the earth...

Correct me if I'm wrong..

Then how did praja accept Luv Kush as heir if they did not consider Sita as Queen. She was also again away for 12 yrs something

Personally my view, since we would never know, what she exactly felt, but I think she wanted to free Ramji of this dilemma. It was true that despite Agni testifying for her, people had their doubts, so definitely Valmiki's testimony would not have been much more, there would again come people who would blame her and put Ram ji in a fix (and who knows maybe even LuvKush would have been doubted this time)

She therefore felt it was best to return to her Dhaam having fulfilled all her earthly duties. That would shut the mouth of all at once

But this is only my personal view as I said

Ramji knew that Seeta ma was pregnant when she left, also Valmiki ji had testified that LuvKush were his sons.

Seeta ji did Bhoomi dehen immediately after that. No one questioned this at all

There was no queen except Seeta, Ramji had made it clear in Ashwamedha

They think that their chief queen is an (for lack of better word) impure lady and hence it is not good for the state. This makes him take the decision of abandoning his pregnant wife(contrary to popular opinion, Ram ji very well knew that Seeta was pregnant when he decided to abandon her) He preferred his duty as a king over his duty as a husband. That is another sacrifice of his

But again this is all in Uttar Kand, which is most likely an extrapolation

One more thing, there is no Agni Pareeksha in Valmiki Ramayana, it is actually worse, post freeing Seeta, Ramji asks her to leave since he wasn't ready to accept a wife which was in custody of someone else and he was not ready to believe that Ravan could have controlled himself so long, he hence said that Seeta is free to go wherever she wants.

Seeta was devastated hearing this and said she would commit suicide, it was Agnidah and not Pareeksha. She wanted to die, but since she was pure, hence Agni appeared for her and testified stating he can't engulf someone as pure and pious as Seeta. Ram then happily accepted her

True . I think it's Tulsi Ramyan which brings the whole concept of chaya Sita and agni pariksha being a tool to get back og Sita .

It feels like Ram gave what is modern day divorce saying u r free to go wherever u want.He straight up says u r unacceptable to me . His words were nasty and outrageous . Accept bharat, shatrugan , sugreeva or Vibhishan whoever u want.

I think Sita gave back well to the accusations of Rama. She entered fire seeking refuge but also asks fire god to protect her if she was indeed pure . So I think Sita protected her self respect before the world and thus Ram accepted her back . In that sense we can consider it agni-pariksha . Agni gives testimony to her chastity .

Also agreed the whole behaviour of lord rama during agni-pariksha feels similar to uttar kand . Makes me think that even if uttar-kand were to be an extrapolation but when it comes to his reputation , honour , before the society he will not mind abandoning Sita smiley6

Which version of Valmiki Ramayan do u refer to ?Any specific translation ?

I haven't watched SKR entirely. Watched a few episodes and left. Was it very bad? Did they really show Sita apologizing to Surpnakha after Lakshman incident smiley5
