You know I’ve thought about this, as much as we love August Babu for his gentle nature. He did have a hard time learning to trust Imlie fully. His traumas had a huge play into it but it never justifies it. He was always quick to apologize, but he also repeated the mistake often. He was impulsive at times as well, I’m thinking of the altar when he walked out. To be fair, all beings are imperfect but he did a lot more good than he did bad.

With Surya, they have a chance to give Imlie a supportive partner who uses his judgement to trust her above what other’s have to say. But I don’t think it would make me like him more than Agastya. He has stood up for Imlie in multiple situations, including when he didn’t want to attend Chutki’s engagement if Imlie wasn’t allowed.

His respect for his elders as well, I remember the first time he met Imlie’s mama. Surya already referred to Dadi as budiya in the precap, who knows if they’ll keep it in the actual epi. Surya also fat shamed officer Tripathi by insisting to call him Chowpathi. We still don’t know a lot about him so he’s a blank page for them to write him however they want.

Aside from Imlie, I also like Agastya’s character in general. He was easy to empathize with, they built his character so well. Sai also did an amazing job portraying the dard ka samundar in his eyes.

August Babu will always be her other half no matter what, he’ll always be the one that got away. He was her safe place, her home, he truly was her person. It’s the kind of love you can’t move on from.

I’d really be sad if they killed him off permanently, I feel like Imlie and him still had so much to do together. I can’t even imagine her being flirty or romantic with Surya. How would it even feel to look at the face of the person you loved in another? How would she not be reminded of her Babu?

Chowpati is a beach in Mumbai. He didn't fat shame the officer. I don't know what did you think it meant lol.

Totally agree with you about Agastya. He did have his hang ups and majboori (which was very well established too) and was an ass many a times (specially the second fake marriage to Binni). But I choose to focus on the fact that he was a fair person, he was quick to apologize after a mistake, cared for everyone, was super selfless. Even before he realised his love for Imlie, he was willing to die for her (Amrit gun situation and the goons situation when Vishwa entered).

I think Chowpatty is also a food item, so referring him to a foodie .... Indirect fat shaming.... But maybe thinking too much into it

Okay looks like our guess was partially right. Today's episode was basically setting the stage for a reboot of Imlie - Agastya ka love story with Imlie - Surya pair.

Imlie's belongings are stolen and she comes to the police station to write a report. It is there she meets Surya again and she comes to know that he is a police officer. Bechari tells Surya honestly that his face resembles her babu and shows him the pic too. I am unable to read Surya at this point. Is he a new character or is he Agastya who had memory loss. Hmm pata nahin chal raha. Plus the over the top dark foundation - the team definitely needs to tone that one down asap.

Surya comes out with Imlie and Imlie realizes that the car whose window she has broken down is Surya's and she also sees her belongings in the car. She frantically searches her belongings for her and Agastya's photo. Surya has the photo - So he basically has seen that Agastya looks exactly like him. And now here is where I am confused. Surya says that he has the same face as Agastya so he wants to take advantage of it. So Agastya's didi Sonali would be his didi, Agastya's business is going to be his, Agastya's house is going to be his and Agastya's wife is going to be his.

These are precisely the 4 things Agastya wanted for earlier - His business, his house and his sister to accept him and Imlie to be his. I kind of felt it was Agastya who was telling all this in guise of Surya. Pata nahin.

Imlie is angered and says just having a same face doesn't mean you are the same person. Babu was a fair person and so much better than whatever this Surya pratap is. So basically we have the challenge between Surya and Imlie that Surya will come and take everything that belonged to Agastya.

Imlie sees the Chaudhary house is going on auction block and calls up Sonali. Sonali says that the debt has increased so much and they have no option other than to sell the house. Imlie says she is coming in the house and she comes in disguise of house maid. they mention that Dolly has gone to the village so that means the character has taken an exit.

Imlie comes in gunghat and is about to be given the job of the servant when Binni recognizes the neck tattoos and suspects it to be Imlie. I feel Sonali will rescue her and Imlie will be as a house maid in the house where she should have been the DIL. Binni needs to be packed asap and hopefully with Imlie in the house her secret would be out sooner.

I would really like the team to give more of Surya alone time and his past life ka hints. Is he really Surya ? Or did Surya had an accident when he was coming to Purwaiya and someone did change him with Agastya ? What are his feelings like ? What does he think.

It kind of felt a little out of place that Surya suddenly said that he will marry Imlie and make her a servant maid in his house. What for ? When it was very clear and evident that she is a widow who is grieving for her dead husband and the dead husband is a look alike of him. There was no mention of the sister or the missing jeeja. So it is not as if Surya is doing all this in revenge mode for his sister suffering or his jeeja being dead. It kind of feels very sudden that the first thing Surya challenges after everything is that he will take over everything that ever belonged to Agastya and that includes his wife too.

This kind of makes him doubt it is Agastya who is in the disguise of Surya. He knows that he can not claim Imlie as his wife - maybe he realized that Binni is occupying the title of his wife and he can not do anything at this point. So he is probably going to marry Imlie as Surya and then he is going to reveal that he was Agastya all along.

If the creatives are laying the track till Surya - Imlie ka wedding then there is no way they can reverse it unless they make Surya to be Agastya all along and he is pretending for some reason.

Busy day today but was able to catch up with the episode.

The confrontation scene was amazing. I found the spark again between the two. She slapped Surya when he laid his eyes on a parayi aurat. He told her he will take everything that belongs to Agastya - his business, his family and his wife. Surya wants to marry Imlie and make her a naukrani. Sai was exceptional in this scene. Didn't for a second break character. I was trying to see if it's Agastya but he seemed Surya only.

Imlie was very good in giving back to him but I don't think she has much choice. They are setting up the stage for the wedding of Surya and Imlie. He knows she is a widow, has taken an oath to protect that family etc. His motivation to take revenge seems a bit extreme - why does he need to marry Imlie to take revenge. Baat hazam nai ho rahi.

Was happy to see Chaudhary house being neelaam. Didn't like Imlie touching Dadi ka feet. She doesn't deserve the respect and love from either Agastya or Imlie.

You are right. I was shocked with his challenge directly to take everything that belongs to Agastya. He still doesn't know where the Jeeja is so instead of pursuing that track, he is here wanting to replace Agastya. It makes no sense. Badla lene ke liye marrying a widow who is like you said grieving her husband is too much.

He pretended to not know Babu is Agastya. He had their pic all this time, the other officer already showed him he looks like Agastya. Had Imlie not seen the stuff in the car, he would have pretended to be nice and a helpful cop?

I feel they need to show more of Surya ke scenes too. Whatever we see are way too confusing. If they want the audience to warm up to Surya they need to focus on him too. The wedding challenge (to make her a maid later) was completely out of place.

I think if they are bringing the wedding track, Surya has to be Agastya.

Isn't that chapati? I've never heard of chowpatty as a food item, Google didn't show it too. It is famous as a beach. I don't think he was fat shaming. He called him Chowpatty (beach) coz it rhymed with Tripathi.

Yes that badla and immediately saying he is going to marry Imlie - That all felt very out of place. I think at this point the team is going to give Surya - Imlie tashan ke scenes to set them up and slowly we are going to have the background of Surya set up.

The Chaudhary house people are going to have lesser screen space and we will have mandatory 1 - 2 scenes of Surya and Imlie in the Chaudhary house. Let's see how they take it forward.

No matter how amazing I’m aware they are, Sai and Adrija always impress me. They gave us full tashan!

Like I’d never encourage physical violence in real life but something about the slaps always leaves me amazed. Maybe because there’s no dhoom tana effects but wow honestly! Imlie has slapped Agastya 3 times because he said something vile. He took it silently each time, deep down he was aware he took it too far. I always liked this aspect of Agastya’s nature, he never took out his anger on her in those moments. His eyes used to have more angst since feelings were involved.

But today seeing Surya shout back “HEYY” at Imlie, I was shook. Sai nailed that, there was so much raw power in his voice and so much fire in his eyes. I was actually taken aback, it was scary but like in a cool way. So much tension in the scene. No hint of Agastya and Imlie at all. But that was such an intense scene, Sai and Adrija are too good!

I like how Imlie calls herself Babu ki Imlie. She’s the only one keeping his memory alive in her heart at the moment. Her new maid avatar uses a lot of English as well which is cute. I like how food is how she patao-ed the Chaudhary’s, her culinary skills should not be forgotten. Agastya made Chaudhary Sweets literally lose investors by not keeping her as an employee in the beginning. During the contract era, he praised her skills and referred her for a position but Vishwa’s blackmail track ruined that opportunity. She could literally save their business if they brought Agastya back.

Binni/Rashmi’s fake sanskari-ness is starting to show. Imlie will probably find other ways to call her out during her stay as a maid. Binni is constantly throwing around “mere ghar” the same way Vishwa use to say “meri mangetar”…

As for Surya’s revenge, it really feels very sudden and misguided. Borderline villainy as he doesn’t have proper motivation. Why torment a grieving widow based on some doubts? He didn’t even bother to ask why Imlie argued with his jeeja. Imlie got catcalled and harassed, someone else murdered the guy and now she’s having to deal with Surya’s antics. And he’s throwing salt on the wounds she already has from her Babu’s death, by using his family who hates her in his plan. He’s also very comfortable with the manhandling in public as a cop. This girl does not catch a break.

I don’t know if he’s Agastya at this point, when Sai spoke English it reminded me of him. But he probably can’t help himself but to sound so eloquent. There’s still something off about him, not the same vibe at all as the guy from the first introduction who manipulated a crime scene to fit his narrative. Him being Agastya with memory loss seems like a very slim chance. But then if he’s actually Surya, will we see Agastya do a groom swap if Surya goes full villain mode? I don’t want them to actually get her married to Surya, kind of ruins the sanctity of her marriage with Agastya if he’s alive. This is all still very confusing.

Maybe’s it’s me who misspelled what I heard. It was written as Chowpatty in the subtitles but I felt like it was a play on chapati.

Also when Officer Tripathi asked how he’ll get back to the station since Surya was leaving with the car. He said something along the line of “walking makes your legs stronger and your belly smaller, so walk and then thank me later”. That felt like fat shaming to me 😬
