I am surprised at myself that I enjoyed binge watching a Hindi serial more than any recent pak dramas. That's how basic majority of the pak dramas have become.

Indian television has also run out of content.ITV has become obsessed with love triangles and every show has the same plot.I moved to PTV becoming kind of bored and fed up of ITV.Have watched many of the popular shows of PTV already but still have some to watch.PTV seems to have declined content-wise as well but every year there are 2-3 shows worth watching.I don't feel that is the case with ITV anymore.People might laugh at me but I got intrigued by Mein just after watching clips and finding out the basic storyline.Funny because it has been criticised by almost everyone.

All the males are dumb, the female characters are supposed to be outspoken but they just annoy me. The relationships have no depth. Earlier, there used to be a Sassi (O rangreza), Saba (Bin Roye), Bano (Dastaan), Farah-Arjumand-Ruhi (Diyar e Dil), Insha-Ameera-Sakina-Hajra (Raqeeb Se) along with Qasim, Wali, Irtaza, Maqsood,Hassan, etc and you rooted for them. They made mistakes, annoyed you but still wanted for them to have a Happy Ending. The relationships were soo flawed, yet human and realistic. You could feel that you were a part of those stories. Right now, it’s all same thing. Rich boy falls in love for a poor outspoken girl. They get married. Sasuma behaves like a sasuma. Then there is another girl who is also in love with they guy and does everything in her power to separate them. Other then Kuch Ankahi’s characters, and story. No other show made me invested in recent years which is really sad. Today’s female characters seem to be less strong-headed than the heroines that were introduced earlier. And the male characters are either ABUSIVE or simply DUMB.

But did we not get more diverse content in 2023, with the advent of Green TV, than in any other year in recent memory. There were so many stories this year that were hatke, and not your typical rich boy-poor girl, lustful cousin, evil saas tropes. Come to think of it, the "masterpiece" Hmsafar was exactly all these cliched tropes packaged in Umera's writing and Sarmad's direction smiley37smiley37smiley37

Coming to hatke content, why not watch shows that did give interesting cktrs with depth and interesting stories since last year:

  • Tere Husn Ke Naam
  • Kabli Pulao
  • Khushboo Mai Basse Khat
  • Stand up Girl
  • Shanaas
  • Nauroz, Jindo, Jeevan Nagar were good half way through but dragged afterwards.
  • Gumm and Breaking News were good I heard. Akhara I've hear is also good. JAM had issues but the story resonated with a lot of urban women.

I see people complaining that we get same content but then they don't even watch when something different comes.

I have also heard of Green TV producing different content but they are not getting the desired ratings.Ultimately, this is also boiling down to TRPs.

Why is anyone wearing a shawl considered to be trying hard to be Wahaj or Murtasim? As if no one has worn a shawl ever before!

People have shown baar baar ke 60s 70s 80s ke ptv shows mai bhi men wore shawls. Anybody who has seen any ptv knows how common is men in shawls

Either it's a kid with no knowledge of ptv or a troll. Koi normal fan can't be saying it.
