I’m guessing changes started as soon as she took on the role of MJ. I think she was always important but maybe more of a straight up villain which I feel like she wasn’t once it was executed. They added a lot to her character that made you emphasize with her, I feel.

Could just be Ayeza wanted to add depth to her role. Actors request changes too sometimes. But at the same time she herself categorizes MJ as a villain. It’s Ayeza’s nuances which has made MJ a bit likeable.

The first half of the drama - MJ was unbearable to me. Only after second marriage she became bearable to watch. Also zanjabeel gave her so many “main pagal hoon” lines. Plus her trying to break ayra zaid up, her schemes, her mein to win Zaid etc, lack of redemption arc - so story supports villain too.

All that remains to be seen is if Turkey bits were added just to keep people curious about the endgame and for ratings OR to somehow justify an endgame. At any rate , the tweaks have created a mess. Its a ball of confusion and nothing else lol

As someone who has been was interested in this drama halfway through because of the 'grey' characters I have to say that interview was v disappointing.

It is tiring seeing the same old poor girl meets rich guy they fall in love until his evil family try to separate them only to reunite around episode 30 after the usual hijinks over and over.

Turns out zaid is the guy Ayra the poor maslum girl and mj and dad the moustache twirling baddies trying to separate the pair.

I watched parts of the interview and Zaid being torn between his father, sister and Ayra made sense to me throughout. I understood that part. Being divided like that, you’re obviously unable to give your all to one person. It’s very human and realistic. I just felt that he wouldn’t be in that situation had Ayra not forced him back. Why was Zaid so mean to MJ though? Not accepting the marriage is one thing but he was mean. I know she was bossy with him at times but her vulnerabilities were shown too. Maybe she wasn’t supposed to have some of those empathizing qualities to her. Or they needed to give Zaid more lines to explain his behaviour. Otherwise I’m going to assume she was just a soft target. Also I think maybe he was aware of how she treated her ex-husband and didn’t want to turn into that. Whatever some explanation from him would clarify this. I was okay with Zaid not having lines up until a certain point - I thought it was effective actually. It’s just the last episode left and it’s isn’t enough time to get his whole POV.

Zaid at that point in time was lashing out at team Asif-MJ. They acted that way na. To the point, MJ even staged that Ayra- throwing -things.

Asif and MJ had the same goal, though reasons were different. MJ knew how to use Kash as a soft target too, which was disgusting and upsetting for Zaid and he decided to strike back by being adamant. He just felt his life was manipulated by his dad and MJ and he reacted to that - quite normal.

Rightfully so. Both MJ and Asif are withholding information from him again regarding what happened. For their own personal gain/interests.
