It’s not supporting actor though. It’s called ‘special appearance’. Like Salman’s in KKHH but even he got supporting actor award for it which he wasn’t too happy about. There were several other instances where the actors preferred to call their role special appearance. For ex SRK in Dear Zindagi. Is he credited as supporting character?
I just checked his insta. He didn’t even acknowledge it while making a whole post congratulating Sam Bahadur.
I say he should drop this love and war or whatever because he ain’t getting anything out of it with two vultures trying to hog everything for themselves.
I don't think Salman's issue was him being nominated for BSA. His issue was that he won it because it meant he wasn't winning BA which he was also nominated for that night. The story is that when it was announced he won BSA, he did not want to go up and accept but Karishma had to convince him to do so. If he was angry about the nomination itself, he would not have bothered to show up.
I've never had a problem with characterizing cameos as supporting performances but I've seen on here that others do. Which makes me think that maybe the better idea is to introduce a Best Cameo category separate from BSA.
I don't remember how SRK was credited in Dear Zindagi. His role was very big though so to characterize him as only a special appearance would appear fraudulent because he has a lot of screentime and is the main catalyst of the film.
But it does sound like Vicky was not interested in the FF nominations or win, and his only interest was in congratulating his team for the technical awards that Sam Bahadur won. I'm glad he's standing up to the sham awards and not bothering to acknowledge them, as further proven by him and Katrina not even bothering to show up despite all his nominations. I'm hoping he goes one step further and refuses to work with Animal and Bride of Animal in the Bhansali film. I sense that will be a disaster in the making because audiences have no interest in seeing a repeat of yesterday's function. All of Bhansali's goodwill is going to be lost with this film and it's best for Vicky to distance himself from it ASAP.
