Exactly. Pretty much everyone who was nominated, minus the few who are KJo's favs, did not show up at all. Not even Vicky who did win had enough interest to bother despite three nominations. What this shows is that this was not an isolated incident of one or two celebs feeling annoyed or disgruntled and not showing up. It wasn't just the non-film family actors like Deepika, Ranveer, Taapsee, Kiara, Sid, Katrina, Vicky, etc. who didn't care. All the big film families unanimously rejected this event whether it was Chopras, Khans, Deols, Bachchans, etc. Only exception was the Kapoors since they are singlehandedly the biggest beneficiaries of KJo right now. And frankly, they just look like clowns, dancing and parading themselves around in front of a bunch of Z-Listers. If you're going to sell yourself (as Kangana "eloquently" noted about Filmfare performers last year), at least do it for the cream of the crop and not a bunch of nobodies.

Otherwise, what we're seeing is the entire film industry with all of its major players boycotting/blacklisting these particular awards. And they've been showing up for just about every other event and premiere which means it was only Filmfare they had zero interest in. They all knew what was going to happen and didn't feel the need to subject themselves to further indignity and watching these once hailed awards be further desecrated by the antics of KJo's gang.

I hope KJo is smug knowing that one day, when people put the blame on who was responsible for eradicating any prestige of India's oldest awards ceremony, it will be his face people will think of and this particular day/year is what will be marked as the beginning of the end. Every empire has its fall and the dawn is setting on KJo's. He is losing all his big friends and allies, like SRK, and the nepo baby gang he supports has no power, influence, or love from audiences to power him through without the heavy hitters of the industry.

If you think this you're very wrong. KJO is betting heavily on SRK and single handedly babying his kids. He himself has advised and invested full time in his son's show releasing this year. The only reason SRK is a no show is because of the terrible reception to his daughter. Next year he will be heavily lobbying for her and for him to win an award alongside her/or present an award to either one if not both of his kids. Just take a look behind the scenes at SRK's future projects with Red Chilies and see how much involvement KJO and his friends have.

The more shocking thing is SRK suddenly stopping promotions of other people's projects like Fighter. Fighter is a huge deal for Sid Anand, who SRK single handedly convinced for two other projects with him, Deepika, who was his close friend for two of his major projects last year and Hrithik who fully supported him during his terrible phase. It's a slap on the face. Why didn't he even bother to show up? (the picture with the Fighter cast is because SRK gave a soundbyte to the Rakesh Roshan documentary) Because he does not want to ruffle feathers for his kids and Fighter is a very sensitive movie to much of his fanbase.

And how can they be a power couple when the actress has never been in the HGOTY or an ATBB.

And even as individuals, they have little to no iconic songs. In Fighter, they specifically play Ranveer and Anushka's Ainvayi Ainvayi. I have never watched a movie where they played a song from Ranbir or Alia's filmography, some hit song that one or the other is iconic for.

IMHO ranbir and Alia have hit songs. But none together. It’s just weird they took Bobby’s dance. I criticize Srk for the that arms wide open schtick but atleast he came up with it himself. smiley36

But how many are so iconic that they have become timeless songs? Their songs are popular for whatever movie is coming out and a year or two later, they have been forgotten for whatever is new and trending. The only song I can think of for Ranbir is Dili Wali Girlfriend or Badtameez Dil, coincidentally both with Deepika.

Where is their Hawa Hawaii, Ek Do Teen, or Papa Kahte Hain, songs that have become iconic throughout the generations and known by all?

You just named 2 ranbir songs that I’m assuming you think are good. So using your description they are still timeless after 11 years.

As for Alia I still really love the Student of the year 1 songs.

Agar Tum Saath Ho is going to be huge for the Ranbir/Deepika generation. Alia's not really an actress with a lot of iconic songs to her name, something KJO has tried to fix with the entire Kalank album.

Nowadays songs aren't as important as it was to the 80s/90s generation because of the music mafia controlling the singers.

I think for Alia it's probably Kar Gaye Chul. Dholida was decent. Kesariya is also very popular but IDT the song will be as popular in 5-10 years because the lyrics are repetitive.

I’m more discussing ranbir and Alia doing Bobby’s famous dance move during the performance.
