32 inscriptions have been found in the survey, which are clear evidence of the existence of the first Hindu temple there. Mention of Mahamuktimandap has also been found on three inscriptions (4, 8 and 29). ASI has described it as very important in its report. The Mahamuktimandapa helps prove the existence of Shiva's abode. Its description is also found in ancient texts. The inscriptions on the inscriptions are written in Devanagari, Telugu and Kannada. A pillar decorated with bells and a two meter wide well have been found. The western wall of the mosque is entirely part of the Hindu temple. The structures found in temples and sculptures of gods and goddesses are engraved on the inscriptions. The advocate for the temple side said that according to the report, the base of the present building in Gyanvapi is said to be resting on the remains of the huge temple. Lotus, Swastika symbols, bells etc. on the pillars on which the building rests are clear evidence of it being a Hindu temple. There is no scope for doubt that Gyanvapi was earlier a Hindu temple, which was demolished and a mosque was built.

I deeply respect Adv Hari Shankar Jain (father of Vishnu Jain) but strongly disagree w/ making it a "national monument". It should be restored to being a Shaivya Temple: nothing more, nothing less!

We need to stop letting Hindu property - both physical or intellectual - get appropriated by either political parties or the state. They belong not just to Hindus, but very specifically, their respective samprodayas. So the Ram Mandir would belong to people who primarily worship Shri Rama, Gyanvapi Mandir would belong to Shaivyas, Krishna Janmabhoomi to Vaishnav/Hare Krishna sect and so on!

All of these would have full rights in banning non-believers from their premises. You can't do that w/ a national monument: you'd have to allow in anyone who wants to come in. That would include people who consider worshiping or even honoring our deities as shirk, or people who consider our deities false gods as per the Ten Commandments

So no, tell the Waqf Board that the Gyanvapi is getting repossessed, no apologies made, no questions asked! For a very simple reason: it is stolen property!
