#ImAstya's backstory: What a mess?!

Imastya's backstory is all over the place. There's no head or tail in the narration of Imastya's past. Infact, the script of Imastya's past baggage is changing every other day.

Although, I'm not sure but I guess it was in Episode 939 where Agastya tells Jugnu that his mother died while giving him birth.

Then the script was changed and in Episode 956, it is shown that Agastya hates bar singers because he has seen his mother as a bar singer getting lured by men.

Which once again changed in Episode 995 where it was shown that Agastya was brought to Chaudhry house when he was a baby. Also, in the same episode, it was said that Agastya's mother died on the way while she was taken to prison.

Later, I guess in Episode 1029 they showed that Agastya's mother is still alive and Agastya was a toddler and not a baby when his father was shot dead as he still remembers the gunshot sound.

Now will they bring back Agastya's father Kunal too from the dead?

To make things worse, there is also an Ashu (Imastya's nephew) track which has been ignored completely with the introduction of masked man track.

Plus, they showed Imlie fleeing from the masked man with a baby Ashu when she would have been just a teenager, while in earlier episodes it was shown, Imlie got Ashu when she was fully grown up!! God!!

I don't understand why is Gul Khan obsessed with the masked man killer track? She introduced it in Aashiqana, then she repeated the same concept in her amazontv mini series "Badi Heroine Banti Hai" and now in Imlie.

Earlier it was Ekta who used to recycle her older show tracks in her newer shows now Gul is following Ekta's footsteps.

Also, other than Agastya's mother Meera and ImAstya's nephew Ashu, ImAstya also had another link in their past.

In Episode 941, when Agastya tastes Imlie's halwa, he remembers the same taste when he was fed halwa during his childhood by Imlie.

Again in Episode 950, it was shown that ImAstya met each other during childhood in a temple where Imlie sold all her halwa to Agastya.

Regarding the Ashu track, it was shown that Imastya have a great admiration for their siblings and are preserving one pair of the same shoe with each other which is probably the last token of love from Dhanraj and Kairi to them.

When will the Imastya's childhood friendship track, the shoe secret and Ashu's track unfold?

To make matters worse, in today's episode and in Episode 995, it is said that Agastya's father Kunal always wanted a son and Meera fulfilled his wish by giving birth to Agastya.

Then what about Agastya's elder brother Dhanraj who is Ashu's father and Kunal-Alka's son?

Why all these tracks are so fuc*ing messed up?

And the masked man and Vishwa tracks are dragging forever!!

I'm not saying that scripts cannot be changed overnight but the way they are changed they should have some logical connection.

But again I know this is ITV and there is no logic in ITV!!

Even the child actors playing Imastya as kids are changed in every other episode.

The actress who played adult Kairi (I think her name is Lakshmi Kushawa) was really pretty.

Imo, the Imlie creatives should start working on Dhanraj-Kairi (perhaps give a segment of their love story), Ashu and Imastya's childhood friendship story.

This Viswa, Meera and masked man tracks are absolutely boring!!!

But again it depends on the trps!!!

I like the thriller angle

Agastya's mother's track is not a mess. It was clearly mentioned they thought her to be dead. But she is alive. And yes Chaudhurys always hated Agastya's mother. I don't know. I think if ever Agastya mentioned his mother died at childbirth then it's symbolically and not literally.

About Kunal, they changed the track about 1.5 months back not today.

Actors keep on changing. That's not an issue. Also certain tracks are kept in the bay for future. Ashu track eill definitely come but in the future. All the tracks cannot run at the same time na.

Not defending the show and saying that it's perfect. It's not as they have changed the storyline several times. But Meera's track has not been changed.

There are a lot of inconsistencies in the writing of the show. Lots of things like you pointed out have changed from the time they started. Fortunately the trp audience doesn't care about these things.

They watch the show one day at a time. Tracks are changed/parked/ expedited based on trp. Actors are also changed based on availability. Need to take these things with a pinch of salt. Most people will have their own reasons to watch the show and can ignore these inconsistencies based on those reasons too.

Appreciate you going through all the episodes and making such a detailed post (with references) about the inconsistencies.

I believe they put aashu track on hold because it wasn't bringing them trps. Cricket world cup matches were going on that time so the show would have been in danger list had it not increased the trps which they did by solely focusing on Agastya imlie contract marriage relationship.

But Aashu will surely come in future. They can't write off his character entirely. afterall he was nephew of Imlie and the last remaining thread between Imlie and her dead sister kairi. Maybe when Agastya imlie would be ready to take their relationship on next stage and prepared for parental duties.

Laxmi Kushwaha is the actress's name, and Ghazi Imaan played adult Dhanaraj. There was another actor who played teenage Dhanaraj in Gattu's flashback to the elephant story that he retold while giving medicine to Ashu.

Some viewers are saying that Dhanaraj is now Govind and Rajani's older son, but I didn't catch when that got retconned. (Edited to add: link to my post explaining that Dhanaraj was never Govind's son.) Imlie^3 once said that Karan is 10 years older than Gattu, i.e. Karan is twice the age of Bulbul whom he impregnated, and Dhanaraj being older than Karan would have been a lot older than Kairi.

By the way, why doesn't Annapurna fake a heart attack to get Karan married? Only for Gattu!

In my fan fiction, I addressed why Dhanaraj's suicide note changed from one scene to the next. Now I wonder why the gunshot that killed Kunal was heard while Gattu was lifted up in Annapurna's arms, and yet the same gunshot didn't ring out until Gattu had already covered his ears while running!
