wonder why Menuka sang before Hrithik came?

Coming to the performances:

1. Menuka - kajra mohabbat wala and pan khaaye sayyan- the first song lacked feel. For me it was a miss. The second was slightly better, but nothing great. Very average. Why did she sing songs not related to Hrithik or patriotism? Wasn’t that todays theme?

2. Anjana- tu meri and bang bang. One of her best performances till date. Also the song she sang before her performance (Senorita) was fantastic.

3. Utkarsh - rind posh mal. Superb!! Probably the best performance of the day. Really enjoyed his performance and was so upset he only sang one song.

4. Piyush - kaho na pyar hai and you are my Sonia. He had the best songs, but was an average performance. I think musically he was good he lacked that punch needed for these songs. He couldnt do justice to such peppy numbers.

5. Vaibhav - laksh ko paana hai and Mera rang de basanti chola. He was very very good. I’m always say he’s a better performer than singer, but today he even sang just as well.

6. Obom - kyun lamhein kharab karein and ghunghroo. Pretty weak performance. Ghunghroo was slightly better, but not good.

the bottom three were Obom, Adya and Muskaan, and as expected Muskaan was eliminated. It was sad to see her go, she was definitely much better than Adya and Obom.

I know I was like why did he only sang one song. He was really good especially on that second antara because it’s pretty difficult to sing that in live. I was happy he chose to do the sangeet wala antara and I was like Sherya too when he was doing that part and I am glad he pulled that. For me also Utkarsh and Anjana were best.

I have a same opinion about Muskan elimination she did not deserve to go it should have been Adya and Obom but what to do every time they get save because of votes. I don’t know next time konse ache singer bali ka Bakra hoga and these two will be still in the show.

Adya saved again.What a jokeVoters have zero clue. Anjana just as bad but she will never get marked down to be in bottom 3 cause of her past and 2 of the judges are from back then

Wouldn’t at all surprise me anymore if someone like Menuka gets eliminated next or 1 of the guys.

To me Anjana gave a good performance for the song type and as much as I enjoy Piyush these peppy songs make him sound like a karaoke singer. Perhaps he should have sang yaadein some slower songs. Sobhodeep can pull off these numbers with ease.

Sad to see Muskaan go. Any pre cap for next week?

Saturday show best we’re Ananya & Deepan

Ananya can’t do no wrong. She consistently sings & performs 👍👌👏👏

subhadeep ruined first song which is sung by Rafisaab. That song wasn’t sung & picturized as drunk-sharabi by Devsaab. Subhadeep brought that sharabi emotionto the song 👎 he did ok with his performances

Adhya sounded horrible in both songs 👎👎 I have heard better renditions of those songs by someone years ago.

Muskan had lost her motivation few weeks back. She gave up & out this wknd. 🙁

Sunday went to Utkarsh👍👌👏👏👏👏👏 not sure why he got to sing only 1 song & no positive or any feedback.

Than Piyush 💕 glad Hrithik did a make over on Piyush 😊👍

Vaibhav’s Rang de basanti was superb 👏

Obom was good. To sing Arijit songs is not an easy task. He sang well. I know he can’t win this competition but he is so good 😍 why only 1 song?

Anjana I take fifth.

By now we should be seeing top 6. Show is dragging on. IMHO.

NICE TO see Zeenat, Hrithik & watching Devsaab’s songs.

Who decides on the songs contestants sing?

Sunday episode was mostly good.

The highlight for me (other than Sanu da) was undoubtedly Menuka. She experimented with her songs again, killed it with all three of them and now her doubters can continue to sit down and wallow. I was surprised that she was singing before Hrithik came out too, but after the news about her sight was announced, I'm happy they gave her the spotlight for herself to start the show. The good news she received was life-changing, she is a beloved contestant and she deserved that moment for herself.

Hrithik's introduction was pretty big and I think deserved. He has been a star for over 2 decades and rarely ever comes on these kind of shows, so when he does show up you might as well go all out.

All those memories when Sanu da started singing Chand Sitare, uff. Take me back to my childhood please.

Anjana was mostly good I think? Her second song was better than her first, but I did have to forward a bit.

Utkarsh was amazing. He deserves to be a finalist.

Pyush did well. He won the annual Idol makeover sweepstakes and his new look is decent. His performances were good, even if he's at his best with older songs.

Sanu da's dancing is world class. Mindblowing and transcendent.

I'm glad the singers of the show are getting opportunities already. Between Menuka singing a song for Salaar was a big deal and now the singers get to be part of a big Bollwood movie. Very happy for them all.

Another strong week for Vaibhav. He again reminded everyone that he's not just a comedy guy. I hope more people take him seriously.

The only negative about Vaibhav's whole set was that they showed Adya crying three times during it. We get it, she's young, she's sensitive and her tear glands would make Neha Kakkar blush. We don't need that reminder every week.

Anyone else kind of getting Vishal fatigue? Not from the show, but in general. His songs all seem to sound the same now, same with most Sid Anand movie songs. Sher Khul Gaye is a very mid song and the least quality song from Fighter and I didn't need to hear it twice in the same episode.

The medley with the girls was mostly awkward but the part with Ananya was cute.

Obom, sigh. I was hoping he'd bring his best, but he seems to be a lame duck contestant and resigned the possibility of being eliminated soon. He seems to be going through the motions for weeks now, just like Muskan yesterday.

Muskan getting eliminated was sad, but it seemed inevitable after how she did on Saturday. She's at best the third best female singer on the show, will never get more votes than Anjana and isn't the judges little pet like Adya. It was going to be her or Obom this week, and she's less original than Obom, even though she's more pleasant to listen to than at least four of the remaining ten singers. She deserves a better standing than 11th, but so did Surendar. It's the one notable flaw still left on this show, even if this season is mostly better than any season in a decade or so.

So almost five months from start to finish. That's pretty close to perfect length for a season like this. Sunday's episode was #32 of the season so we're looking at 10 or so episodes left. A part of me wants more, since this is the best adult season of any show I've seen in a long time. But I also remember how badly the 2020/21 season dragged and no show should run so long that it starts dragging and feeling complacent.

Saturday show for me, the top were Ananya, Muskan and Dipan.

I will comment on Sunday's episode tomorrow.
