I don’t know about hits but I enjoyed all of Shahid’s stupid romcoms which failed at the box office. I could still watch them.

Ishq Vishk, Dil Maange More, Paathshala, Chance pe dance, Phata poster nikla hero, Kismat connection, Badmaash Company, Deewane huye paagal etc.

Ajab Prem was the 3rd highest grosser of 2009 after 3idots and LAK..where in the world was it a semi-hit? It was a superduper hit on all accounts

Same. Except badmash company (which I haven't watched yet) I lhave watched all his early days movies and I have enjoyed them all.

When I was younger and shahid was a debutant, I had a huge crush on shahid and Kareena ruined my fantasy dream when she started dating him lol he is good looking but looked his best younger. I still prefer shahid more than any young actor

Shahid is so underrated like he’s so hot. I’d literally jump him if I ever saw him.

Never understood his box office success (or the lack of it). He's hot, great actor, great dancer.

Wouldn't the film Shahid be most remembered for be Haider? Both him and Tabu have given one of the top 15 acting performances in modern Bollywood history. Even the likes of Sri and Amitabh Bachchan have admitted they have never done a performance as unique as that.

Shahid's career was crashing after Haider, but it turned around ONLY for that film. (Why he got offered Udta and Kabir).

I agree in popular culture Jab We Met is his most popular performance.

Some bad choices in scripts and probably some bad luck too. Doesn’t matter though, does it? He’s an extremely talented actor and very versatile one too, and a great dancer. And I think he’ll always be known for that no matter what the status of his movies are. That’s an enviable position for any artist to be in. And it’s not like he’s unknown. He’s established a name and status for himself in Bollywood. He’ll always be a star. Not being number one or a superstar hardly matters when you’re always considered among the most talented. IMO at least.
