I've no doubt that his family is regressive, old money, with coal mine industrialist family from Bilaspur, I can understand EXACTLY what kinda family they're, and sure it's patriarchal along with ten other kinda hierarchies, but she doesn't live with them. Barely visits. And Vicky shields her from it. One thing I'll give Vicky credit for, he does actions which take care of her. He's the raja beta, she's from middle class yet he's done chores for her.

Her mom wants her to behave, because more than trophy they can't let go of Vicky.

I’m sure he does love her and I think he has given her the lifestyle she wants knowing she cannot adjust. He has definitely been seen as a protector for her and the family because by Ankita’s own admission she is fragile in many ways.

I’m not saying she’s a gold digger but she is well settled with him and why would anyone want to leave that cushy lifestyle. They own a very lavish 8 BHK in Mumbai which must cost a fortune, her house is as good as any A list BW celeb.

You’re right those kind of communities have a tunnel vision view of spousal roles - but here the thing is the environment isn’t exactly right to coach his mother. His mother was avoiding the topic probably knowing she will spew venom and now I mean the way she’s giving interviews is seriously like wtf - why would anyone with a clear mind even say that despite knowing they look bad.

I've seen their holi party, and it's like a BW celeb, damn, no avg ITV star, despite the success can have that. He really should've hired some good PR, esp to coach his mom
