In Ravan serial they called Shurpanakha, "Chandranakha"
Does anyone know how they got this name??

There is no Shurpanakha in Uttarakand. Kekayi never met Shurpanakha. Kekayi was not that bad.

Surpanakha proposing Ram n Laxman is a comic incident in Ramayana. In front of Ram Shurpanakha described herself as the most fortunate and beautiful woman in the world and Seeta as most ugly, It's really funny. When she proposed them for marriage, Ram Laxman instead of telling that she is unworthy said that they r unworthy of her. Ram said that he is not worthy of her n sent her to Laxman. Might be he wanted to test Laxman. When she proposed Laxman he said that a slave like him is not worthy for her sent him to Ram. Though she continued to utter bad words for Sita they maintained patience n rejected her proposal softly n told her that they r nor worthy of her. They didn't want to hurt her. But that problem demoness thought that if she succeeds in killing Sita Ram will accept her n she attempts attack at Sita. Ram saved Sita from that attack n then Laxman punishes her.

i was just saying lot of other version show shurpnakha in uttarkhand also i know the main valmiki and tulsi ramayana didnot mention shooprnakha in uttar khand

Shurpanakha means one having finger nails like winnowing baskets. Sanskrit word "shurpa" in hindi means 'Sup'.. But cant say how she got this name.
