2009 was 3 Idiots so this was Kareena's year. But even then, keep in mind that the marketing and promotion for this film mainly focused on the three main male leads. Kareena's role is the fourth most important role. Most leading ladies are the second most important character or tied with the hero as the most important. Kareena starts her trend of latching onto the Khans with lesser roles just so she can claim box office success.

2010 was ruled by Kajol overseas with My Name is Khan and Sonakshi Sinha for Dabaang in India.

And see my prior post about Alia. The only film of hers that was ever #1 at the box office for India was RRR and she's a cameo in that with only four scenes and was derided online for having such a small role yet making such a big deal out of her "involvement." Aishwarya, who Ponniyin Selvan hinges around, starred in a film that grossed more overseas that same year. Not only that, but the marketing for the Hindi dub of PS revolves entirely around Aishwarya so you can see whose name is being sold here. She has second billing in the movie and in the non-Hindi promotion, is still always pictured with the rest of the cast front and center. RRR has 1-2 posters that feature Alia.

Rani that is not how rankings go..kareena was legit number 1 after JWM in 2007..see the rankings from that time..she was undisputed queen

Not just the BO but your role matters too..that is exactly why Bajrangi could not make kareena number 1 in 2015 again coz she had no role even though it was the HGOTY

Her/his/its criteria is as outdated as her/his/its actual favorite's career. No one's buying into it, no one's taking it seriously.

You cannot be the undisputed queen if your box office rankings do not hold up. Jab We Met gave her critical success. In terms of box office, it wasn't even in the top ten highest grossing movies of the year. Deepika, Katrina, Vidya, Aishwarya, and Rani all had films that grossed more that year in India. For that matter, Katrina had multiple films that year which grossed more than Jab We Met: Welcome, Partner, and Namastey London. And Om Shanti Om was a blockbuster which launched Deepika as a superstar that year.

Let's look at 2008. Kareena has one movie in the top ten that year in India with Golmaal Returns. Above her is Katrina in several films including Singh is Kinng and and Race, along with Asin, Anushka, and Bipasha. The pattern here is that in these years, Katrina has multiple films that are more successful at the box office.

And I agree that role matters along with box office success but if you look at the #1 film for most years, the heroine tends to have a substantial part that matches with the box office success. OSO had a dream role for a debut actress like Deepika. Same with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini for newcomer Anushka and veteran Asin. I've never seen Welcome so no idea what Katrina's role was in that but she has big roles in Partner and Race and is the undisputed leading lady in Singh is Kinng and Namastey London.

Using "it" as a pronoun for another human being is considered offensive and dehumanizing, especially when transgender people are being attacked everyday all over the world and treated as subhuman with attitudes like yours calling people "it." If you must use neutral pronouns, you can use "they" which is what I use when I don't know the gender of a poster. I have never used anything as offensive as "it" which people don't even use for their pet animals.

It is not used for a person. It does sound derogatory.

Just use he/she. That is fine.

I don’t think Bipasha Basu was at any point bigger than Kareena an if she was it was just little bit in 2002

Maybe it’s cause hindsight. But who ever was topping the polls and box office in 2000/2001/2002 is not that important to me. Which people were active then and still star in movies now ? That’s a way I started seeing it
