Dharmendra's deleted role in Dunki

Dharmendra was supposed to be in Dunki playing SRK's father. He's not in the final film or credited so does anyone know why his scenes were deleted? This would be the only time they'd have acted together (minus the cameo in Om Shanti Om).

I don’t think he did any scenes in the movie. It may have been just rumors

Taapsee is the one who was saying that SRK and Dharmendra had an emotional scene together in the film, which is what's confusing.

The scene might have been scrapped after deol kissed azmi in Rocky uncle ki katha

Dunki didn't have a scope of Hardy's father as in his interview he said, his family is all dead dead dead dead dead

So I am not sure, if this character was there but I wanted it to be true

You're right, it doesn't make sense then that he would be playing his father unless it was a flashback or memory/fantasy scene.

Maybe he was never playing his father but a separate character.
