What should SRK's next films be?

2024 will be a sad gap year for SRK fans. His next film won't be out until 2025 most likely. What films should SRK do?

I'm still interested in seeing him return to his staple of romance but do a mature romance with one of his classic heroines. Not Kajol (we need a break from this jodi) but Juhi, Rani, Preity, Aishwarya or someone he didn't act with very much like Karishma, Shilpa, Urmila, Tabu. Ameesha Patel has also said she had to turn down Chalte Chalte and thus missed her opportunity to work with SRK but wants to rectify this.

I think it would also be nice to see him play a proper villain again like he did in Darr, Baazigar, and Anjaam. I thought Jawan would be that role for him at the beginning.

Personally if you ask me, I prefer him to stay away from Action and Comedy. I dont think he excels in either.

I would love to see his work with Sriram Raghvan. A dark thriller would be SO SO apt for me. If not, then an out an out negative char is also good, love his Bazigar, Anjaam, Don.

If he chooses romantic flicks, it’s gotta be age appropriate and in his Veer-Zaara or Jawan Vikram Rathore looks, heroines don’t matter to me , I am sure he’d elevate the scenes regardless. Tabu would be awesome, Sathiya left me wanting for more, next preference is Preity. With Kajol it has to be special, and not with a director like Rohit Shetty. Rest all is fine whatever.

The only thing I’d be interested in seeing from him is a mature love story with maybe Kajol or Aishwarya. Other than that , I think it’s better he retires or does something on OTT. He’s not like Amitabh who can reinvent himself in the senior years

I don't necessarily mind him in comedies but I'm thinking of his 90s comedies with Juhi since their film genre was primarily comedy. The comedies now have very raunchy humor or are the typical masala films which I don't think he works as well in like Chennai Express which was fine but is not his forte. He's best in drama and romance. Thrillers as well if he's playing negative roles. Action is also a no for me when it comes to SRK outside of the Don movies and I also enjoyed Jawan (even if that's more action/masala) but I wouldn't want more of him in action films. Let Salman and Hrithik do those mindless flicks.

Yes, that would be a good combo with Sriram Raghvan because I loved Ek Hasina Thi and Andhadhun. Pair him with Urmila and/or Tabu as well. A return to his roots, playing negative roles which made him famous, seems like a good choice although one could argue he tried with Fan.

My Name is Khan was a very good example of a mature love story between SRK and Kajol. I'd like something more like that and it proves that even KJo could do something of that sort, more toned down from his usual fare. In his KWK episode with Kajol and Rani, he talks about how he wishes SRK would do a mature love story and Rani calls him out and asks him why doesn't he make it himself then with SRK and Kajol. Rohit Shetty was not a good fit for their pairing.

Many actresses deserve cinematic comebacks like Preity, Karishma, Urmila, etc. so I'd like to see SRK provide that platform. I remember an old interview with Karishma where she said she'd happily work with any of the three Khans again.

I agree with the first part of your post. As for the second part, keep in mind that Amitabh himself was still playing the hero to younger heroines like Juhi in the 90s. The only reason he stopped is because his films were all flopping and his investments did not pay off so he was in dire need of money. That's why he was forced to age himself to playing father roles in the 2000s. Jaya mentioned that when she was approached by Karan for K3G, Amitabh was not part of the plan. Jaya herself asked Karan to hire Amitabh too because he needed the work. Had Amitabh been financially better off, he probably would have continued to try to play the young lead for another decade or two.

I want Jawan 2 with Daddy Vikram Rathore. I'll start putting money in a trust called "Jawan Corporate Booking" and will add money in it from the day of announcement to release 🙏🙏

Either he should do roles like vikram Rathore or he should do out an out villian role. Something similar to Joker. I think he will do great. He needs to let go of romantic movies. His hair is already long so he can be a negative role with long hair. I think it would suit him a lot.

I thought Jawan could been edited 30 to 45 minutes with unnecessary action scenes. But people still came out to watch many times. Maybe Srk is observing what his next role should be like after seeing dunki outcome at the BO?

I feel like Jawan 2 is a given. Alongside Pathaan 2. They both made too much money to not make sequels. They should bring back Deepika as Aishwarya's reincarnation and have her hook up with Vikram. She won't need the old age makeup then.

I think he's torn between doing commercial films and films that resonate with him but won't be blockbusters for the masses. Hence why he said Pathaan was for women, Jawan was for men, and Dunki was for himself.
