She is a 40+ yr old woman, who we were told that she ran a grand business empire successfully where others took advice from her. With this background, I would (& everyone on this forum would agree with me) expect her to act maturely.

First off, she should not travel without knowing who to contact, how to get there, where to live etc. There are basics, even if one is travelling within the same country or state.

Second, watch your belongings & protect them. Have a backup of the most imp things like contact numbers, extra cash etc, etc

Third, mistakes happen, unfortunate things happen to everyone. In that situation, a 40+ yr old woman would not cry. But, look for the next step to take to get what they lost or find help to get back home or find someone who can take her to the embassy.

No, this is Anupamaa. She is the one who knows everything and solves others problems, but not her own. She has to act like a maniac in the middle of Manhattan streets. No matter how hard she tires, she ain't getting any sympathy. Anyone seeing her like this would first take her to a mental asylum. Period!

That's a bit harsh. The writing is bad. They could have shown her strong and successful like they did with Prachi in Kum Kum...Writing is pathetic. Everyone had a costume change except Anupama. I like her character. She will find her way.
