See I feel collaborations give an opportunity to have the best of artists from different regions to come together in a venture. Otherwise u generally see remakes which have distinct north or south flavour.
Collaborations are like to mix and match the various flavours resulting in a unique outcome. I hope I'm making sense.... 😳

Yeh I dig.
We will get a good mix here and there but what about the directors, if they kind of break boundaries, because somewhere they still maintain regressive behaviour towards women and also there is a chance of more vulgarity.
Do you feel Hindi Cinema has become quite vulgar already and do not need encouraging more or they can't be encouraged more than they already are regardles
There is one south director AR Murugadoss who directed Ghajini and Holiday and they were both big hits. He should do another hindi movie

Oh yes, Holiday was quite q good film. So was Ghajini. I think we need some new ideas for Hindi Cinema. But it needs to be balanced out. South movies like to play with your psyche past the credits.
There are movies like Arya2, there is a lot of things in there which you don't realise at first but later realise was such an intelligent script.
To be honest, when I watch a movie, I don't been pay attention to who wrote it who produced it or directed it if the synopsis looks good... me watches it, if it doesn't, me scrolls along.
I wudnt even talk about this movie Animal, if it wasn't for the mix reactions it creates or the disturbance.

No one can force people to watch or not watch certain content. GOT had been very famous in India. It also had mixed reactions from viewers. Some people loved the series for its shock factor, the sex & violence; other hated it for the same reason. Same is happening with Animal. Some people will love it for some reasons and others would hate it for the same. Neutral people should allow grown ups to chose whatever content they want to watch (as long as it's legal) instead of virtue signalling and controlling what people should watch. Isn't that what liberals and wokes want... Foe and stuff?

Totally agree with you.
I feel sometimes liberals and feminists are selective.
Personally you can watch a movie know what's right and wrong and move along. Like you said no one is dragging no one to watch. Everyone can decide from themselves.
We Karanvir fans faced a lot of chat because we liked Viraj. We all knew he was wrong. The actor was very good. The character was glorified, to the point when he became intolerable.. I quit watching.
But the same kind of character in Western films will be appreciated and people will know to differentiate it. The discomfort of it all is, when it's done in Indian cinema then it feels too close to home. Some immature people really do start glorifying the characters and acting out.
Sometimes one has to watch a movie for what it is. However there are a number of films that people cannot watch with family. We don't want to lose that. But like sand in time, decent movies are slipping away.
Movies now have to include cultural diversity and Lgbtq.
Indian cinema includes Lgbtq quite a bit however I was kind of glad to see they covered disability.
I have a problem with movies showing censored material and the way Ranbhir was parading around naked, but of Tapshee Panna does movies like Manmarziyan, she is seen as a modern woman. I would bracket them both in as wrong.
Hence I find viewpoints quite selective and confusing.
I normally am not the person to throw the woman card because I see myself as an equal with men, I've never had to face situations of being made to feel less than colleagues but I guess in other parts it does happen. Priyanka chopra was saying she got paid less than her male Co stars, was that a sexual discrimination or the fact that the hero's role was more involved and complexed and different actors and actresses are valued differently depending on how much money they draw back in. Can't expect Pooja Hedge to get paid the same as Sallu when 99 percent if the audience went to see him.
There times when I feel it's a necessity to talk about women's rights when transwomen consider themselves real women and better over real women.
The rest of us feel Urfi walking around half naked is a wrong moral conduct where as some believe she has a right to do what she wants as a modern women, but the same people won't like Ranbhir or the females doing the same on screen. Either you find it all wrong or you dont.
You can say Animal movie objectified the characters of the.women, but Tripti was objectified in playing this role, but she is being g praised and going viral for doing nothing but lying half naked in the movie.
@Cari - very true 👍
You know when I first started watching GOT, it had incest scene in the very first episode. I was so pissed off that I stopped watching After the very first episode. However later I kept reading people showering praises on the show and decided to give it another try. Ofcourse I still found things in the show that in didn't like but there were many good things about the show too. Despite my dislike for certain things shown in the show I found it overall entertaining because of its story, grandiosity and shock factor. Did people question whether the popularity of Cersei in GOT would encourage incest? Nahi na! So why worry about misogyny and vulgarity from collaborations?
Just watch the movie if u can ignore certain things for overall entertainment. Otherwise no one is forcing u to watch.
I hated Animal and I didn't even find it very entertaining. The only thing I liked in it was Ranbir's acting but I won't shove my ideas of morality and progressiveness in a film on everyone else. They are free to like what they like. It's their money and they only decide what to spend it on rather than what they are expected to spend it on.
