Rishta stopped being Rishta when Gen 3 started.

Gen 4 on the other hand is doing something good. Questioning old traditions. Something that was last done way back in Gen 1

Poddars seem like a proper family

I respect and embrace old traditions, but desist superstitions. My qualm is how instead of targeting the farsical superstitions these serials portray total family system as hypocritical and elders as villains. IMO they try to portray staying in a joint family is some kind of punishment, but sadly nuclear families mean loneliness and less prosperity.

Ex:due to foreign invasions the North of India had gunghat prathaa it wasn't since ages and it might need to be abolished because unlike others we are a country of embracing new ideas and our culture is all about tolerance.

That's not true. A nuclear family does not mean loneliness or less prosperity just like a Joint family does not mean punishment

Both of them have their merits and demerits

An individual should have the right to choose according to their preference.

Rishta does a fine job of portraying that

What was he thinking I don't understand. And shaadi k baad bi ruhi ko hope de rha hai to wo kaise move on kregi.

My poor Rohit, I m in his side only for this matter.

Armaan and ruhi ki bezziti dekhni hai from entire family mujhe.
