I know this is a very unpopular opinion here and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of pushback for it. I believe it’s the opposite. I believe that being aware of what Ranbir was always like as a partner KJo tried to talk Alia out of marrying Ranbir. He alluded to it on KWK with Alia and Deepika where he said something along the lines of he was wrong to tell her getting married is not good for her career.

Alia always wanted Ranbir. Whether it was a childhood crush she never got over, or the Kapoor last name, or the dream of becoming some power couple in Bollywood and saw Ranbir as her best option, or all of the above, who knows?
