As someone who has watched some episodes of the initial GHKKPM, I'm actually quite satisfied with how YRKKH4 is turning out. The actress playing Abhira is doing a fabulous job - like Pranali, she has an undeniable screen presence. I like Armaan's subtleties more than Virat's. Virat lacked a lot of nuance that Armaan (at least as it is written) has from a rich backstory.

smiley36 Rajan shahi ke writers always wanted to show how leads craved for love and they find solace in each other smiley39 so, unlike Mr. Chavan, he is definitely not everyone's favorite.

He tried doing that with Dr. Birla and Akshara too, but they failed miserably because they definitely had people who loved them alot, so their words sounded hollow, hence, this season they made it very clear on how ML, inspite of being rich is lonely and clearly not loved. Same up with Abhira, they ruined all hum saath saath hai bond to show Abhira as lonely star craving for family. I think only thing I am happy about is that Abhira isn't shown superwoman and both Armaan and Abhira have same profession. In a way, which brings more connection and Armaan replaces Akshara in her life....

Only sad thing is that Abhira would realize that big family = happy family is a myth smiley39which is unlike Rishta... Goenkas deserted her mother and Poddars ka big family will make life hell for MaaHira.

Season 4 is definitely growing on me. Even the online fandom is now growing again. At the start of season 4 there was no online buzz or any Fandom but now people are posting again. I think the trp will probably increase too. Just wish they would get rid of the Ruhi angle in Armaan and Abhira's story and focus on Ruhi and Rohit as a couple.

I have not watched Ghum at all, but through some reels on Instagram, i have basic idea of story that Virat & pakhi get attracted to each other but Virat married Sai, and pakhi goes into obsession mode. (is that the story?)

I love gen 4 of yeh rishta a lot, infact on YouTube people are going crazy for Armaan & Abhira scenes. Since you have seen ghum, is this show line to line copy or just basic plot copy with variations? What's the difference in both shows?

Ruhi is better looking than both armaan and abhira. So this love triangle thing doesn't make sense at all. Another aspect is that her childhood was shown with both goenkas and birlas , making her more relatable. For the show to run, Ruhi should be the lead. Makers should understand that the show will run on audience's favorites and not their own favorite.

Latest example is gen 3 , where they had to kill their own favorite achhca admi because audience and consequently the channel didn't approve it. Whereas abhimanyu's character was continued till the very end of generation 3. Not a single day they could afford without abhimanyu and abhir birla in gen 3 , right after their deaths gen 4 was initiated.

I chanced on yesterday's epi by fluke, liked it, and watched last few epis. I like arranged marriage trope. Hope they show 2 versions of it. Ruhi falling out of love and moving on with Rohit and Abhira/Armaan being more in a situationship that will eventually grow into a real relationship. I didn't watch Ghum and whatever I read/heard of it was 🤢. I feel people are fed up of love angles with sisters/brothers/jeth/devar/Bhabhi kid of bs. Rishta should reel back into positivity, and maybe the ratings will be back. I'm not sure if love angles are their forte.

Acting wise, FL actress is pretty good. ML needs improving, but to his credit, I think he is. They have amazing chemistry, and as a husband, he's coming across as green flag for now. So refreshing to see someone rightfully stand up for is wife and MIL. Rohit is sweet too, and am looking forward to seeing Ruhi/Rohit's chemistry

Question: Do characterization of this gen remind you of Naira Gen? Abhira gives Naira vibes. The beard guy/orange saree couple reminds me of Keerti/Aditya and bitchy daadi is like annoying Suhasini daadi.Hope they make Ruhi/Abhira bond like Gayu-Naira. And Ruhi moves on from Armaan like Gayu did from Karthik.

also, if you've watched this gen from beginning, what the story of ML being lonely? And weird relationship b/w his dad/daadi? Thanks in advance!

I have watched the episodes of 'Ghum' and am really glad about how Yrrkh 4 has turned out.

Virat can just be written down as the most pathetic ML of ITV. I can rant long about this. A partner is supposed to show trust & respect. Virat never trusted or respected Sai. It’s all about his convenience. He’s the worst partner. Or putting Sai's into trauma & daily getting tortured by in-laws, subjected to domestic violence in hands of so-called husband very frequently in the same league with Virat's not getting reciprocation of Sai's love he turn pyscho. Abusive behaviour, gaslighting, manhandling, domestic violence. It's toxicity. He utterly lacks respect for his wife. He disrespect her in front of a stranger. Stand by his father trying to slap his wife, throwing her out of the house at odd hours, etc, etc. It's a far cry from being a healthy relationship.

Virat's character seems a bit confused and inconsistent, especially when dealing with his family. He comes off as more of a nuisance. Right now, Armaan's character is way better than Virat's. Armaan has a sad backstory, more depth, and he understands loneliness because he doesn't get love from Dadisa. He gets love from his stepmom, but it's not the same. In an interview, Shehzadaa said Armaan is a sad character who never gets the love he wants from everyone. So, as of now, Armaan is a green flag, and I hope he stays the same. ITV has enough red flag male leads.🤢💀

People are loving Abhira and Armaan, Armaan acting is getting better. Abhira was already good, and they are serving well. People are really hyping and loving their ship, their chemistry. I just hope they don't ruin Rohit's character like Samart's, because Samart's character makes no sense whatsoever.

I also didn't watch Ghum. I had fair idea of that serial & watched few clips.

I was in doubt whether to watch generation 4 when I heard that it's inspired by the Ghum.

Starting few episodes when they showed 2 minutes love story of Arman& Ruhi, I was thinking to stop watching. Good that I continued to watch and I am liking it now.

I’m liking it so far too smiley1 What makes it different from other shows is that the male lead isn’t the family’s favourite
