Animal's success is a fluke. Movies like these don't become sure shot hits. This is nothing to celebrate. Emraan hasmi had done many many such movies with bold scenes. Those became hits as well. But nobody today even remembers his movies

Ranbir's last hit movie was Sanju. Such a coincidence that both sanju and Animal both are about whitewashing the villain. And his fans(2-3 people) are celebrating that in a dead forum. Tsk tsk.

Ranbir has a huge PR that will keep this film alive. His PR is already working hard and making this movie success look larger than life and him as a god of acting.

Also don't forget, Emran Hashmi is still seen as god of "romance", his movies brought lot more boldness to hindi cinema. Every contemporary was trying to imitate his "work" and add more "spice" to get more audience. Unfortunately, it will happen here too, as they will see not only sex sells but also violence and primitive content.

Sanju did not become a trend. It was made with a certain purpose by the director. Nobody made biopics to whitewash a bad guy after that.

Same goes for Animal. It was made by the director to create controversy. This will not become a trend.
