Sonali - A phoenix waiting to be reborn

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to put my 2 cents on Sonali. First of all - Kudos to the actress for the way she is portraying Sonali Chaudary.

Sonali is not your normal sharmili girl but she is someone who has seen a lot of tragedy growing up. As a girl she has probably seen her mother cry to herself every single day after her dad had died leaving behind an illegitimate son. As a young woman she saw her elder brother getting killed and dying off young. Any girl would be really broken down by seeing the tragedies the family faced.

But nope not Sonali. She went ahead and handled the business when Agastya was in foreign studying - I am not going to debate whether she did business right or wrong way. The fact remains that she did helm the karobaar when there was no one to shoulder the responsibilities. In the meantime she got married to Amrit too. I guess Amrit married her only for the money and always had an roving eye. Sonali was busy in the business that she never really understood Amrit or recognized the wolf in the sheep clothing. And Sonali over compensated Amrit by giving money over her time.

All this time Sonali wanted to be known as the rightful owner of her father's business. I really feel the mother always cribbing about husband's infidelity has done Sonali's psyche a lot of damage. And now here we are. Agastya comes back and Dadi announces the business would be given to Agastya.

Sonali does everything she can to hold on to the business - so much as to getting Nyonika engaged to Agastya after knowing her secret. But Agastya comes out of the challenge victorious after marrying Imlie and Sonali is left stunned. And not only that - Sonali comes to know that her husband is also like her father and has an eye for other women.

This shatters the perfect view of Sonali's world. She might have never wanted to end up like her mother crying over her fate after the husband cheated on her but looks like that is what is going to happen. She is not able to grapple with the reality. Does she expose her husband and kick him out ? thereby showing the world that her marriage was not perfect by any means ? I feel at this point Sonali just doesn't want to deal with marriage and Amrit. She is trying hard to get a sense of sanity in her life and she feels that showing to her family that she is suffering from broken marriage is going to make them sympathize with her and she would lose the invincibility she has built around herself.

I strongly feel Sonali is a phoenix. She will burn down when Amrit's true colors come out - whether it is now after the fire scandal or later on. But she will rise up again magnificently like the phoenix does and when she does raise up she will understand her Lalla and Imlie much better. I for one would love to see a strong woman who knows when to stop pretending and when to kick leechers out of their life. Sonali loved Amrit - that is not her fault, The only thing is Amrit was never deserving of the love Sonali bestowed on him.

I so wish the guy Vishwa who is introduced in today's episode is for Sonali later on. She definitely deserves someone who will do everything for her.

Lovely title and lovely post

Rarely you see a parallel lead character that has so many layers and nuances. Of course along side the writing, a lot of credit goes to Asma who plays Sonali to perfection. Gul has found a gem.

When Sonali was introduced, she was shown as an ambitious woman who did not care if she pursued wrong ways. Some customers suffered in the bargain who had to later be bribed off by Agastya to save their reputation. She did all this in the pursuit of proving herself as a rightful heir and snatching the business away from her illegitimate half brother. She may have felt that Agastya being the only son alive, would be favored over her for the inheritance.

Somewhere while focusing on her business and professional ambitions, she did neglect her family (not condoning Amrit's behavior). She blindly trusted him and failed to notice the obvious signs that her husband wasn't faithful to her. He used the garb of the NGO to try and lure needy girls into his trap.

Not going to lie, I had high hopes from Sonali when she got to know the truth of Amrit's philandering ways. I am sure she was reminded of the betrayal faced by her mother, the social stigma about the affair and the reputation damage they still continue to face due to this scandal.

While I do empathize with her situation, she needs to take a firm stand against her husband. Can she control him to ensure he doesn't stray again? Can she ever trust him or his words henceforth? Does she want a marriage with so many issues just due to society pressure. Will she ever be happy in this marriage?

This was all too sudden and such decisions aren't taken in a hurry. Even strong women take time to reconsider their next move. Hence, I am willing to give her some time to decide what she wants to do with her life. How does she want to cope and heal.

Knowing the fact that Amrit does not seem to want to mend his ways and does not even feel any guilt to hurt his wife, there is no way I would want Sonali to be with him. Hope the new guy is for Sonali. Girl make us proud by kicking the leech out of your life and moving on with your head held high! You are strong and you deserve better.

I feel at this point Sonali is trying to hold on to things that make sense to her. The business and her marriage. She has not forgiven Amrit - that is why she did not break her Karwa Chauth ka fast with him. But she really does not know how she would like to take her life forward now that the business is also gone to Agastya. She has always seen her mother just cry and crib and she does not want to do that. She is holding on to the happy appearance and is trying to get a sense of what she can do next.

I feel this tragedy will get Sonali nearer to Agastya and will help her understand him as her brother. Once she gets over the grudge that she unnecessarily holds against Agastya then she will accept Agastya as the business owner. And then she will realize that with her family behind her she does not need to compromise with the leech jeeja. In all of this if the truth that the jeeja is responsible for the fire comes out then Sonali will definitely kick him out of her life.

also jugnu is sensing something is wrong … but what ? is he suspecting jeeja for the fire incident or his misbehaviour with Imlie ???

I think he is suspecting Jeeja doing something to cause Imlie bhabhi be in distress. I dont think Jugnu has made the connection that jeeja is behind the fire incident.

Just saw her story.... How cute. She had the SS from the day we posted here but shared them today. Wonder why. Hope the PH gives her good substance to perform. Aaj kal back foot pe hai woh.
