I can’t tell if the person tweeting about international acclaim is being serious or sarcastic.
Here’s the link to the article. It rips the movie and Vanga a new one.

Forget gun, he has killed 100s of peopleOriginally posted by: diasingh2
A part of me loved the film for Ranbir's performance, great and cinematography an engaging screenplay.
I even posted about it in the other thread.
BUT
The film did have some problematic scenes, and I am not blind to overlook those things.
Although, I anyways did not expect the film to have layers of feminism because women do not have a "respectful" place in Sandeep Vanga's universe.
A whole separate thread can be made about things that were wrong with Ranbir's character.
In terms of misogyny,
- He points a gun at at a pregnant woman who is in labor.
- He asks a woman to lick his boots.
- boasts about being an "alpha male" and how the society functioned back in the day, and says, "sadly, it's a man's world".
Now, whatever the context of these scenes maybe, what concerns me is that in India, where Cinema affects real life as well, glorification and celebrations of films like these is increasing day by day.I think the film would've been as good as it is, without the misogyny. It's evident that those parts have been added primarily to rile up the audience.
Although, The silver lining is that many people (at least the educated and evolved ones) have realized this, and not taking the bait, because it gives more power to the director.
Also, why is nobody is discussing the unrealistic portions of the film.
- A school boy walks into a college with a loaded gun and shoots at random places and threatens the students and he doesn't have any legal consequences, because he is a big industrialist?
- The hero, who is brutally wounded in every possible way, recovers in a few weeks as if nothing happened to him. (except he losses his hearing).
- Apparently, human clones can be made now by plastic surgery
I don't know whether to appreciate or hate Vanga. He seems like a psychopath in real life who seems to be LIVING his wild fantasies through his films.
I am not very familiar with the outrage against Kabir Singh. But this time it's worse, right? Like I think more people protesting against this one than the last one?
Which is good thing I guess because Vanga would probably disappear after Prabhas ' s spirit release?

No. He has signed his next with Allu Arjun too, it’ll be a PAN India movie, so he basically got Vijay, Ranbir, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, all biggies to work in his batshit crazy films, god knows what does he say to convince the actors.

Nah, Spirit is next. Vanga said that they start shooting soon or something in his last interview.
Is it only me whi didn't like this movie? Maybe it's just not for me
After reading about ranbir character i am not interested to watch such a movie
Ranbir goes around killing so many to solve his daddy issues and misbehaves with wife and lovers
I mean what daddy issues? From 1990s most kids daddy were busy at work 10 to 12 hours and mom too may be busy at work etc. Parents hardly had time for kids in 1990s or 2000s on wards as work became hectic and competitive. So kids adjusted and were mostly left on own at home after school or tutions. So did most kids become like Ranbir kapoor character?
Why this false label that daddy issues made Ranbir character to hit wife, lover, other woman after marraige and kill so many? Did Ranbir daddy belt him everyday come drunk and hit his mom and sister everyday in front of him etc than atleast you can say some daddy issue there. Still it does not justify Ranbir character extreme violence towards woman and enemies too? Actually i think in this movie two villans were there ranbir and bobby deol. One died other lived?
In 90s villans and those who killed even heroes went to jail. Like SRK in darrr and bazigaar or even salman in tere naam he went to asylum for life and even other movies hero themselves went to jail even though they killed to save family or themselves. No one went scott free most movies
Todays gen below 30-35 many are highly immature and iff they sttart immulating kabir singh and ranbir the animal or varun of badlapur in real life what will happpen? Do not say its just a movie will not influence to kill or it women. It does. Research has shown that seeing voilence on TV will tigger kids to be violent.
Before 1980s did any lover throw acid on lovers or rejected loves face no. This is all after 1980s or 1990s. Same is case of eve teasing did our grand moms face eve teasing while going to school or college in 1960 s no why? Because society and even boys parents will thrash him if he dares eve tease forget throwing acid etc or behaving like animal ranbir or kabir singh? Imagine would our parents dare behave like kabir singh and animal ranbir in front of their parents would our grandparents praise them like anil kapoor or bear them like kabir singh family? Nooo ways they will get whipped belted and on roads in first instance.
But our gen kids born after 1990s and 2000s are more molly coddled by our parents generation as only one or two child there too much wealth and luxury so there they are giving rise to kabir singhs or ranbir animals i think. This is dangerous to future society imagine watching such horrible movies how adults in 2040-2050 will behave with woman in their surroundings? Such movies should be banned actually or only above 35s or 40 year olds should be allowed to watch it as others may be impressionable watching such movies specially men
Thank gooness till 2010s atleast bad man got punished in movies and not scott free like kabir singh or animal ranbir. I think this director has major issues with women in his life and hence writing such toxic scenes .
no I completely understand people who won't like it. Even my friend almost left the movie because some of the scenes were too uncomfortable for her to watchOriginally posted by: Sanskruthi

This seemed like different movies in the two halves.
The first half is great if you are a masala movie lover with some really interesting and well acted scenes , complementing it was a terrific action sequence to cap it off in the last 20 minutes.
The other half is where Vanga's lunacy starts. I firmly believe he wrote the major portion here just to p!ss the people off who have been critical of his past movies because in no way most of the scenes were needed when you look at the bigger picture.
Ranbir was excellent and i felt this amazing act deserved a better movie. Rashmika was alright certainly better than what the trailer showcased her. Anil just had an grumpy grandpa character to play which he did alright. Lord Bobby had only 3 scenes in the movie which is disgusting because his character was actually interesting unlike the two girls here. Speaking of which, Tripti was only in it to have steamy scenes with Ranbir and the film would've been better off without her character as it would've prevented Vanga from making his main lead justifying cheating as well LOL. Don't think she will gain anything from this movie.
Think it is certain to cross the 500crs number because the target audience in my cinemas was enjoying it a lot like Kabir Singh.
