lol what?
“Character dies” is no moral compass for deciding good and bad …and neither is it the so called repurcussion that is meant to dissuade people from that life.
death can be sympathetic and even tragic which is how the deaths in baazigar and devdas were staged …one has him dying in his moms arms as she cries for him and the other has him dying as the love of his life is running towards him…he was no villain in either so hold the horses …
This isn’t even going into the toxic pieces he played in kank, chalte chalte who “gets the girl” he wants in the end …despite doing several problematic things …
Also 30 year old film eh? Let’s take don. That’s in the mid 2000s and the early 2010s
The “negative” don character in that case is “endorsed” at the end of don :since he’s alive and the good guy is dead ? This is the character that also treats women like objects to satisfy his needs btw ….and he’s alive again after don 2
And there is a whole franchise abt how he’s “badass” and gets away with it every time …same with dhoom series
Character being alive is no endorsement of his behavior and neither is being dead a reprimand…
That is an excessively narrow way of looking at films and characters ..
A main character who is a douche …can survive till the end of the film and engage people without them endorsing that behavior ….that’s a thing and it happens a lot …fyi…and yea it has happened with several of srks characters and films too…😊
much like life, in films, every bad deed isn’t punished and every good deed isn’t rewarded …that’s not an endorsement or promotion of shitty behavior ….
