Akshara didn't ask Armaan to marry Abhira. She said him to protect her. Protect does not mean marriage. She was dying and he was the only one around. As a mother, she would ask him to take care of daughter in that situation. But something else would happen that will force Armaan-Abhira to marry eo.

It’s an arranged marriage kind of..same like Ruhi,and rohit. Podaars chose Ruhi as they think, she’s a good girl for rohit. And akshara chose Armaan as she knows he’s a good man..and thinks he’ll be a good husband for abhira. But akshara was also desperate..she’s dying .’she doesn’t want to leave her daughter all alone unprotected.so her decision makes sense

Yes, from her POV, Armaan is her student , good person ,lawyer and from a good family , and also this is the only way Abhira can be protected from that stalker Yuvraj. makes sense..
