Back in 1982, Pierre Trudeau refused the extradition request of Khalistani terrorist Talwinder Singh Parmar. Pamar was the founder of Babbar Khalsa which was later designated as an international terrorist organization. Pamar instigated and directed the 1985 Kanishka bomb plot.

How imprudent were Pierre Trudeau's actions? Almost as a reflection on Pierre Trudeau's government, a commission led by justice John Major inquiring the Kanishka bombing gave a report in which Canadian police and spy agencies were blamed for grave negligence and hampering the investigation. John Major called the failure of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canadian Security and Intelligence Services to prevent the Kanishka bombing “inexcusable”.

If you fast forward to current times, "Sikhs for Justice" group founded by Pannun, who opened the "Shaheed Talwinder Singh Parmar Voter Registration Centre" for a joke of a referendum, was banned in 2019 by the Government of India under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. In 2020, Justice Patel upheld the government decision to ban this group. The High Court declared that the activities of the group were "threatening the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of India", that the group was working with anti-India entities and forces.

This should be enough for at least Indians and people of Indian origin to get behind India on this subject. Whether or not US and Canadian governments get behind India and cooperate with India to get separatists/terrorists extradited to India is not something that is in our control.

Thank you ji for proving my point smiley16smiley36 Reporting and removing posts happens quickly in this forum as soon as the current government is criticized. Since you brought BWF people for no reason even though topic had nothing to do with it we might as well rename current affairs "BJP fanclub" as majority of the posts are that way and posts criticizing the government get reported quickly, plus all this rage over "BWF people" who are not part of BJP fanclub! smiley36 Nothing wrong with being BJP fanclub.

But doing so if you are gonna support separatists and terrorists, others gonna question too.

If you are spreading blatant misinformation, others gonna comment too.

Open forum, FOE and all that jazz.

Nope. Yanet and Kenit were banned.

In the name of opposing govt, these people shamelessly paraded for terrorists.
none of these lot is neutral.
They only go after Hindu nationalists, Hindutva brigade. Which is minuscule fraction but none of these virtue signaling lot has balls to go after much bigger and threatening form of radicalization that’s on the face of the world. Quit the moral high.

I am going to continue countering any misinformation. Again.. open forum, FOE and all that jazz.

@bold: Who are these people? Can you elaborate on the usernames? smiley36smiley36 No clue what happened here for you to go let me start posting all these links, but please carry on.

I believe the ones that truly love India are Indian army at least they love the country to go out there to fight for the country! On the other hand "fighting" with strangers on the internet over left vs right seems like an absolute waste of time.

Since you have stuff to say about BWF people, even though topic had nothing to do with it. So these people are shameless and you are the neutral one supporting Modi??? Waaah! Very classy way to put someone down and then on top preaching "quit the moral high" the sheer irony! smiley36 Do you hate people who are different compared to you or what?! These people might have a different opinion compared to you and everyone should have the ability to think for themselves without blindly following others.

I also want to see these people "shamelessly parading the terrorists" please show me one post in BWF where anyone paraded terrorists. I want to see these links and I want to know who these people are. I am having a hard time believing that comment. With the rate you are going, you will even tell me that I am shamelessly parading for terrorists when I am NOT. I am waiting for the governments to investigate as it is their responsibility.

I don't support left or right as far as I am concerned all politicians are liars and sociopaths and both sides are equally useless. People just get emotionally invested enough in politics to pick left or right.

This section definitely makes me appreciate twitter. Over here most just seem to get hyper over criticism of the current government and go "you hate India" or if you don't hate Muslims go "you cannot be a Hindu" or if you are not posting this man is a terrorist, then assuming "you are parading for terrorists". A lot of assumptions.

Believe it or not there are Indians, who live in India and outside of India, and don't believe the government = India. Good luck in your battle with the BWF people who you assume are shamelessly parading for terrorists!

This issue is complicated. Let US and Canada investigate. Five eyes alliance shares information with each other. NO ONE wants a repeat of Air India Flight 182, which was extremely tragic. When you want to maintain diplomatic relations with a country you do not send assassins to kill their citizens on a foreign soil and if you do that, then at least be smart enough not to have media showing how the person is a terrorist to justify it and don't do it in the same year to 2 different countries. I don't know about you, but if tomorrow US decided to send an assasin to kill an Indian citizen in India and calling him a terrorist, I would NOT be supporting that, because it is India's responsibility to investigate that. These countries are responsible for everything that happens in their country.

Mods please lock this topic as this topic has gone off track. I thought we couldn't talk about other members over here, but a few are openly breaking forum rules. Thank you for being liberal! smiley41smiley41smiley41

Modi has nothing to gain, politically, by having Nijjar or Pannun killed. It is not something he could brag about during election rallies. Even if he does, the killings of these two individuals are inconsequential to the voting public.

If diplomatic relations have soured between India and Canada, the blame goes to Trudeau who has gone public with intelligence (not evidence) and using that intelligence to point fingers at Indian government. In any case, India doesn't care much about having good relations with Canada as evidenced by its angry response to Canada when it called Trudeau's allegations absurd and motivated followed by diplomat expulsions.

India and US do care about good relations which is why US didn't go public with the intelligence/evidence it has. Delhi too responded appropriately saying that it takes US inputs seriously and that they are being examined by relevant departments. Ties between US and India are much deeper and valued by both sides. There is no indication that relations between US and India are negatively affected by any of this.

I believe this would not be happening under Manmohan Singh in 2023. You can believe otherwise.

Ya.

During MMS times it would just have been Kadi Ninda for everything that happened against India. Eg. 26/11

US 'warning' India seems like n American equivalent to that.. without actually anything happening.

Just want to tell one thing to everyone who say they detest all politicians, all r liars and sociopaths etc..

What would the world do without politicians? How will it run?

Can u imagine running a country without a govt? Can u even imagine n institute running without a management? It's a norm to bash, curse n abuse politicians..but who will keep the show running without them? World is a chaos anyway but organized chaos coz there is this community/profession called politicians who take the responsibility of running it..they take all abuse, all sorts of name calling, all questions(rightly).

If ALL of them r liars, sociopaths and incompetent why don't u good people displace them and take the responsibility? U know what's the right thing to do..u know how to manage affairs of city, state, country and the world..u will do a better job for sure
