The hype is not just bcoz of previous show but he is crazy cult fanfollowing...he has blind fans mostly like elvish and stan ..his insta is growing by 60-70k followers daily...he has got 2 million followers increase in just 4 weeks whereas others as anku have only got 100k increase in 1 month...

yep I remember him in survivor. He was fantastic. And you are right he would have won has it not been the cast voting. But also he doesn't need that kind of money.
