I actually found that line so ironic from the LG
.....such a sense of hubris with the presumption that the so called "civilized" humans are the ones CHANGING to evolve in order to survive while presuming the Orakas are just sitting ducks.....lol not a thought spared for the fact that it is the Orakas who have survived longer on these islands than the city people
I just finished watching the series yesterday too and I feel the series mainly picked up from epi 3....after that I was gripped enough to binge-watch it. In the post Covid world, watching a series about an epidemic can feel like deja vu and also predictable in some ways but this series went beyond just focusing on the illness or the cure and instead became a more reflective human story before anything else.
I did feel Priyanshu was wasted in yet another role.....the guy just can't catch a break....they gave him a random role which didn't have much of an arc in the series and he was gaayab for most of it....lol they also killed off Mona Singh in the first epi only and anyone could have played her role since they didn't let her impact the overall story that much.
word!! Which is why i didn't added anything else caz bhai toh first epi ke baad gayab hi ho gaya bas ek random voice note..they never showed us where he was stuck surely can't be out of island? Since the whole thing was koi aa nahi sakta jaa nahi sakta but kahan kis planet pe tha the whole time and unaware of the epidemic too in a sense..it sure did feel watsed overall. Mma ko bhi chodme gaya for a random lovestory while jyotsana i liked fot most part trying to redeem herself gets the guilt of her shoulder by saving and protecting the kids but the lovestpry just didn't come through or made me feel anything so i was like ok 🤷🏻♀️ i didn't wanted her to die but as you said she showed her lack of brains then didn't even tried to favtor in the father's wmotions goven how he was unable to even say proper Goodbyes to his loved ones too he felt absolute failure in protecting in doing anything woh ab yeh jaanke ke she won't be there for too long too ko bas aise ho chod de and pick separation again caz that meant being separating again nope
Jyotsana wala angle I found tiresome in bits....just I was warming up to her arc, it got dumb in the end again with that Kaddu ka father choking her to death....lol like seriously Jyotsana thought a father that desperate who had already lost the rest of his family will calmly agree to not let his daughter go on that boat? Reason and logic had left the platform a long time back.
Orakas and Chiru wala angle actually got the most emotional depth....casting was very good too and I was amazed they made the effort to cast African actors and give them dignified roles than stereotype them with caricatures as they do in Indian movies/shows.
Overall the show was a reflective study on nature and evolution.....every character in the story evolved for the better or worse and struggled to survive on their own levels.
One surprising arc for me was that of Kadam....lol his only act of goodness in the very end to let that Ritu go and then him having a meltdown that did he randomly fall in love now of all times?
.....and that Ritu wala angle also left so open ended and vague about whether they will even find the plant to make the cure....lol was kinda frustrating for me and I wanted a bit more clarity on that.
Orakas ka arc was the best one....loved how they outsmarted those people in the end.
