I guess today's episode can double up as Kumar Sanu special as well What Sanu said is true. There's no Kumar Sanu without Mahesh Bhatt!

WHAT A SURPRISE PERFORMANCE BY VAIBHAV!! WHAT WAS THAT??!! loved how he showed his versatility. I thought he could only sing Sukhwinder Singh type songs but what a lovely performance!! Dil khush ho gaya!

HOW DOES MENUKA DO IT EVERY WEEK MAN!! EVERY SINGLE WEEK! ♥️😭

Haven’t got to watch episode yet been busy all day. So sang today beside Vaibhav, Menuka, Dipan and Mahima for Mahesh bhatt challenge. Sony is doing step child treatment to idol this year so it’s hard today who is singing in which episode. These contestants needs promotion specially the new faces but is not doing the job properly.

I finally watched most of the episode today. I don’t like when we have the same guests every year, but Mahesh Bhatt is an exception. His movies have some of Bollywoods best songs!!

I think I missed the first performance (and parts of others). This is a problem when the husband wants to watch sports and you get Indian channels on only one TV :(

Gayatri - she sang Tum mile dil khile and it was a fabulous performance. Although this song, like many others based on Raag Bhimpalasi are fairly easy to sing. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I missed the name of the guy that came next but he sang main duniya bhula doonga and tu meri zindagi hai. Both lovely songs and I thought he sang very well. I only wish he chose one different type of a song to show more versatility. Maybe a peppier number. Can’t complain too much though, I like both the songs and he did justice.

Mahima - she sang tere dar par sanam and tu meri zindagi hai. Compared to the others her performance felt slightly lackluster. It’s not fair to compare but this is a competition. I can’t pinpoint and say she didn’t sing well, because she sang pretty well. But something was missing.

The next guy (missed his name) sang tu pyaar hai kisi aur ka and chahiye Thoda pyaar. His first performance for me was average but chahiye Thoda pyaar was lovely.

Menuka - Tum aaye to aaya mujhe yaad - I think it was an average performance at best. Of all the singers today, I think she was the weakest. She was good in parts but in parts it fell flat.

Surendra - tujhe dekh dekh sona. Decent performance.
But this is a tricky song to sing. It can very easily sound like reciting a poem.

Anjana - Khamoshiyan. I’ve watched Anjana as a child so wanted to hear what she sounds like now. The few posts I read on the forum compared her to Shanmukhapriya (I think from last season). I was someone who didn’t enjoy SMP’s performances at all. But Anjana today was phenomenal. Mahesh Bhatt used the right words to describe her performance. It was a different version of Khamoshiyan. I must say, I probably enjoyed her version more than the original. Basis todays performance, I can say Anjana has a bright future.

For me, it was Menuka & Surendra for today's episode.

Good episode. Not much of Bhatt movie fan. Unfortunately the girls today mostly sounded the same except Anjana. The guys were okay.

I was just wondering it seems like Menuka sings what she hears. Is she able to improvise on a song. It’s easier to rehash an existing song more challenging to sing a completely new song. Would you choose a versatile singer?

Tomorrow is Mithoon. From what I recall his songs also follow a similar tune. Let’s see.

Vaibhav really surprised me. He sang so well. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.

Menuka was as usual… soulful performance.

Also, I loved Mahima’s performance very much.

Surender was good.

Anjana - I used to love her but now she is stereotyping herself.

Gayathry, Dipan and Muskaan - I personally didn’t find anything great in their singing. They were okay.

I think she knows to improvise on a song. She improvised a bit on both Mohe Rang Do Laal in the audition round and Karam with Richa Chaddha in the grand premiere. What I would like to see is her attempting a song of a faster pace. Going by her hand movements, I feel she is used to singing songs at a slower pace or the musicians adjusting a fast song to a slower pace (Like the Karam song originally by Richa is actually much faster than what they sang on stage) so if she can attempt a song at a faster pace, I think we would have a better idea about her versatility though voices like her, Mahima, Ananya aren't really that versatile usually. They are more soulful so that's why they can get away with versatility often by the audience.
