DGDS can do anything when it comes to mahajan reputation or vanshaj - if shobhana is exposed to public and arrested now, there will be no mahajan reputation intact and hence no mahabharat. UV will take her family to somewhere and never return! She will not fight for vanshaj for no reason!

In order to get on to the next phase in story:

Shobhna or anyone/everyone from that DGDS - has to turn the tables and shobhna has to stay in mahajans!

Nagars have to go somewhere (unknown) and rebound stronger than ever !!

True , he should've yelled at her....atleast now we know why he listens to everything she says so that scene felt realistic to me
