Solely from the show's point of view - thodi bolne ki baat nahi ho gayi? I mean, the c clearly did affect them. Dhruv's existence got wiped out from the twenty-first century. His family didn't recognize him.

It might hurt them for a day or two, but they'll learn to disassociate from it (take the emotion out of it), and look it purely as a job to earn money.

It's not very difficult if they see it that way (and I'd say most of them already do).
