But SRK denies that. He mentioned in one of his interviews that when Aish was thrown out of Chalte Chalte and the project was jeopardized, Kajol came to his house to tell him that she’d be ready to do this with him if he needs, no questions asked. SRK was touched by that and they were as close friends as they seemed.

I am sad their friendship soured due to the third wheel, Ajay though I like him he just shouldn’t have come between Raj-Simran and Rahul-Anjali. I know I am being unreasonable, please don’t wake me up or correct me.

SRK himself has said he has no friends in the industry.

Again, being work friends who come through is different.

They're not working together anymore. So they're not friends anymore.

Just like any office friendships.

Srk said many time that kajol is a dear friend of mine and he often invite her to the house. They were close friends but i think things changed when Ajay became a producer. Srk worked with Kajol in Dilwale. But when Srk said in KWK that he has no friends in Bollywood and it feels lonely to be on the top, i think that was the time his friendship with Kajol went down the hill. I am sure he misses old times.

Again, work friends are different.

Even when they were actively working, they weren't exactly hanging out after work or work-related parties.

Like Gauri does with her pals. Whatever peeps think of the sincerity of the girl gang, that friendship is personal.

I am super friends with my colleagues at work. They will go the extra mile to help me out at work if I have an emergency. I would do the same for them. Still ain't a personal friendship.
