For me too, there is so much difference that one cannot disagree. It was just kept vague until now. Abhi did gain something when he came to know of Abhir's existence - a will to live for himself, not just Ruhi. In hindsight after Nav's death, his demeanor now seems like he was observing the person Akshara has now come to be. He was taking everything she was dishing out to him coz he somehow mourned the loss of the sweet girl he once knew. When she proposed, maybe he thought he can try and bring that back a little. But alas, it was never meant to be. Just sad overall. But I will always remember Abhi ki Akshu fondly. I hope Abhi gets a proper ending.

Yeah that's basically how I see it too. He was observing her and trying to ascertain what she wants for a long time. And yeah he def mourned his Akshu. But I do feel like somewhere he felt that if he can make up for his mistakes and if he again provides a loving and safe environment Akshu will return. I have given up hope of Abhi getting a good ending also. Nothing good will ever happen for him basically.

Thanks for the timely reminder. it's better to have zero expectations than hope for something positive for Abhi when the story is deliberately driving through an agenda.
