As audience, I don't think Angad loves Seerat...VJ does a brilliant job by ensuring that he does not show NY emotion for Seerat that can be vaguely termed as love. Angad's biggest problem is that:

1. He is regressive - like most men in the country

2. His family comes before his wife - like most men in joint families

3. He is dumb

4. Anyone and everyone can fool him

5. His mom makes him feel guilty for being nice to his wife....like moat MILs ...now seerat joined her....like many SILs .... but he is ok with this

6. His biggest flaw is not that he loves someone else.....his biggest flaw is stupidity.....he is stupid and dumb....everyone feels sorry for him that everyone cheats him...why?

7. The world is full of ppl who will take advantage of u....u need to be intelligent

More than Seerat I want to see Angad and Manveer band....they need to be punished for being so dumb and tolerating....u can give Seerat whatever....how cN u allow her to redo ur room? He does not understand the word boundaries....tomorrow she will come use ur bathroom and bed with some excuse and u will let her? So stupid of him...more than spine...he needs to grow a brain

Haan i agree. It is regressive. But the male lead is 50000 times better than what we are watching currently. Even Balika Vadhu was quite regressive , but then characters were in character. Though it wasn't one dimensional.

Other than Zama shows barely any progressive shows on Hindi Gec.

Balika vadhu may not have been regressive that time but more realistic I think. Child marriages and big age gap marriages I think we're prevalent that time. They just show that with a rich family background....they showed the family drama with some realistic situations is what I feel.

And honestly aaj ke episode mei 2-3 cheeze kaafi interesting thing jo kisine nahi discuss kii. Today Seerat was triggered so much ki usne uska saara frustration Sahiba pe nikal diya btw

I concur with your analysis. Angad does not know boundaries AT ALL. Itna dumb rahoge toh bakike log fayda uthayenge hi naa. He is blissfully unaware of uske saath kya ho raha hai and bande ko sochna bhi nahi hai.,

Once he grows his brain, his spine will grow too (hopefully, no guarantee here)

Balika Vadhu had regressive characters but yes they fit in the time frame and social setting. Characters were not uni dimensional or black and white. Appreciate Vankar for it given how he was extremely involved in creating Kalyani Devis character.

The only thing I found regressive in the show writing wise was how they vilified Jagya for finding love in his adult life after moving out of house. Like come on, he was a victim of child marriage, he should be free to love any woman once he becomes mature enough to understand love.

Writer should have handled it better.

But khair, gone are those days, we are in the era of kuchh nahi samajhne waale male leads who love swinging between sisters.

In long run ,if this show runs that much we are going to see Seerat redemption also.She is the only one who knows that Angad loves Sahiba.This would make Angad miserable and ultimately she would work towards uniting them by sacrificing something big.She would be remembered by everyone as the guiding force for Angad and Sahiba to discover their love and work towards it.
