Rahul-Tina were actually more matched though they, too, were very young.

right.and not all brothers are happy if the father disowns their elder brother or younger brother.there are many siblings who value their brotherhood more than the family property.

This is too cynical.

I've personally known someone who took a literal bullet for his girlfriend when her deranged ex came after her. He pushed her behind him.

You also hear news of lovers dying for their love when society won't let them live in peace for religion, sexuality, whatever.

Bollywood is wrong in its idea of love, but not all love is for personal gain.

I object... falling in love isn't a question of age...

Kids can fall in love to another kid in school (or even kindergarden) at a young age...and such a love can hold for 60 years e.g.

People older than 70 can fall in love and live a happy and fulfilling life until death (and beyond???).

Love is about caring, feeling happy when thinking of/being with the loved one, wanting the other being happy which would make oneself happy, too. Relating to the other's feelings, respecting the other's personality, smiling & laughing together, keeping interested in the other, feeling fine when being with the other but not being clingy...all this doesn't depend on age...kids can be tender to each other without a feeling for sexuality...'old' people can enjoy physical love to their abilities (without Viagra)...

And then...love exists in so many forms, with so many orientations...and that is okay as long as nobody gets harmed, forced or abused.

One can also feel love for occupations, things, landscapes, art...so much to explore...ufff...one really needs more than one life time smiley4

I object to the way love is portrayed these days too. You don't have to start smashing as soon as you meet and then later decide whether or not you love that person. smiley36

Anyway, unpopular opinion, but the idea of "the one" is completely absurd in my view. There's hardly anyone who gets the perfect Mr. Right or Miss Right. At one point or another there's bound to be clashes as not two people are same. And then one needs to decide how badly you want the person or the relationship to work and you act on it.

There are so many nuances of love why should one even think of the 'one & only' as long as one doesn't encounter and feel it.

We belong to nature and in nature (here = animals/humans) so many different forms of 'belonging to' exist.

It could very well be that one won't find the "right" partner in every aspect but maybe, if one doesn't live a fullfilling love with a partner one may live a fullfilling love with the work one does or with the children one has or with a passe time or with an artistic occupation or even without a partner or an own family caring for other people...

If one doesn't like the love one watches in movies then make sure you won't do it or fall for such a love that isn't love but something else only using the word love.
