Hirani's strengths were always simplicity and sincerity. The problem with PK and Sanju was that his film-making style didn't feel sincere anymore. The desperate attempt at manufacturing new catchphrases (Missed call and Question mark), the gimmicky music, and the parade of cameos. It all feels forced and formulaic now.

Sanju is almost certainly one of his stronger films in terms of direction. It's much better crafted than most of his films, and he extracted much better performances than usual. But the kitschy treatment doesn't work for a man like Sanjay Dutt.

Regardless, his very worst is still significantly better than the average bollywood film, so I am hopeful for Dunki. As long as SRK's creative inputs to the film were near zero, we should be fine.

Sanju is strictly one time watch, couldn't fathom the topic he picked to display.

Liked PK except Amir's overacting, wished he took some other younger actor.

Dunki I will be watching 4-5 times in theatre. Likh ke le lo.

P.S. - I also loved loved loved the way he uses Boman Irani. That Munna Bhai laughter, or Virus or Get Well Soon emotional touchhhy moment. Man, let me go run and check if Dunki has BI.

I genuinely don't think Hirani will falter from his vision. If he has his mind set on creating a certain type of film, he will make it exactly as planned. I don't think a little bit of 'action' will hurt Dunki - DDLJ style. Fingers crossed!

Best was when Munna faints seeing dead-body and Dr. Asthana says - admit him, form mein bhar deta hoon.

Circuit goes to Chinese guy and tells him— come with me.. mein dikhata hoon ekdum bhuka nanga log Aur Phir usko pit deta hai.

HAHAHAHAHA my favorite was Cirkut entering the dorm room and saying this room ends even before it starts ANDDD Munna Bhai's dad recognizing one of the fake patients at the fake hospital and asking him

So the guy pretends to have a heart attack and Munna Bhai tells him to do more natural acting like the other fake patient instead of pretending to have a heart attack every time lmao

No the best test part is when Munna comes to him saying he doesn’t want to marry his daughter anymore because now he has fallen in love with the doctor in the hospital. That scene makes me ROFL endlessly.
