Nothing wrong in being there for your family

It is disturbing how fans of India and Bangladesh are angry that Bumrah and Mushy leaving Asia Cup midway just to be there for their child’s birth. Some are even saying like they have zero commitment.

I don’t think being for your family is a bad thing and it does not compromises your commitment either.

A player choosing to be with family at this time or not is completely his personal choice. You can play cricket well and give time to your family at same time. There is life outside cricket too.

Imagine doing a full time job and waiting for your child to be born. Won’t you take leave to be there for your wife and child? Anyways that is also one’s personal call but in most cases fathers will take leave indeed.

Some raise the question of representing your country. You do not become a betrayer by being there for your family. Be it common people or famous people or one representing their country (apart from army) most will still choose to be with their family, especially when having a child.

It’s a normal thing.

It is very unfair to make comments on them for taking time off from an important tournament for their family.

They have done nothing wrong. I believe in "family comes first". If someone wants to leave or stay back in such situations should be their personal choice.

Cheers..

I think it is great of them to have taken leaves for child birth

Cricket isn't some emergency service like medical or armed forces. It is a job and always remember family will be there for you for life, not job

In my opinion they did the right thing

@bold exactly why some ppl making them taking paternity leaves a big deal dk. i got so annoyed when i see some fan pages making vm on how dhoni is the only committed one , and showing as if kohli, rohit, bumrah did nothing just cause of taking paternity leave. i m dhoni fan but i do not approve of such vms smiley5

Also the same people will shout if a girl decides to curtail her maternity leave for her job...

I am not saying that Dhoni was wrong to not be present for his daughter's birth, but that is his choice. Why shall others follow it?

And what about "national duty" thing, they aren't any military people defending the border

They did the right thing by going to their family esp after childbirth/during childbirth. Its a personal choice and a right personal choice too in that matter. Family first, everything else later (except if they r in military).

Those people who are bashing them are patheticsmiley7
