₹1100 crore in profits by launching satellites of foreign nations

250+ satellites of India's own in space that provide services from weather forecast to education to entertainment services to GPS to enemy troop movements monitoring, all at a fraction of the cost it would have been if we did not have ISRO and had to use West or Russia or Chinese to send our satellites to space.

ISRO is wasting no one's money it not only saves money for government of India, it earns precious foreign exchange for it.

But I guess u live under a stone so don't realise it.

good to know all of that crumbles like a house of cards because of one tweet

Sorry but you can’t convince me that these countless futile explorations of the moon equals flying planes. Fix the planet you live on.

You're really short-sighted.

1. The earth can't continue to hold all the living things because we keep multiplying. We're going to need space. Scientists have already started plans to terraform Mars.

2. Resources are limited. We're going to need more of everything.

3. It is statistically impossible we're the only living planet in the universe. Even if we don't go looking for others, they.might come looking for us. Hostile or friendly, it's best to be prepared at least within our limitations.

4. Plain old curiosity about the world we live in. My God, even our ancients showed more curiosity than you do. How do you think they charted the sky with zero technology? Or made a map of the earth?

Firstly I need to be real with you. Moon is inhabitable, this Chandrayaan moon mission isn’t going to find you a new life support lol. Secondly this mission is about being the first in reaching the South Pole which is just an exercise in ego massaging for the govt. You are short sighted if you see it for anything else.

You are also far sighted. Good luck living on the moon in a 1000 years or in your la la la nevermore land.

We need to fix our own country before fixing the planet.

Chandrayan-3's budget is 615 crores, it's cost efficient. This will create an image of India in the world for being cost efficient. Which will inturn bring projects to ISRO and of course creating revenue to the country. The revenue earned will be used for our country's development, it's a good news for us, assuming you are from India and u don't mind the country's development

I am all for development but can’t account for your corporates and govt who are looting you. One day they will fly to moon leaving all peasants behind to crash and burn.

I get where you are coming from. There are so many challenges on planet Earth that we should be investing in first. What is the point of space exploration when there is global warming, poverty, and hunger?

But on the other hand, knowledge is priceless, and all knowledge is worth having. Space exploration helps us understand our place in the universe. We have learned so much about physics, time, and much more due to space exploration. We know all stars die and the earth will be swallowed by the sun someday and life as we know it will be extinct (that is if we don't kill ourselves off with global warming, war etc.) Space exploration gives hope for humanity to carry on.

Besides, it creates jobs for laborers working on rockets, scientists calculating and planning, and so much more.
