KBKKJ barely crossed 100 (Not great but in 2023 only 7 films did that)

I think Salman's next Tiger 3 will make it to 300 Crore 😊

Righttttt

540 Is still quite a lot. Was it the highest grosser till date?

It depends on the budget of your movie.

If a movie is made with only 70 or 80cr (Gadar2, Dangal) then 300 is magnificent.

If your movie is made with a budget of 120-150cr (Tiger2, War) then 300 is very good.

If a movie is made with a budget of 250cr (Pathan) then 300 is good, but you expect more (Pathan delivered).

If a movie is made with a budget of 400cr or more then 300 is a failure.

Thanks for that. Yes that makes a lot of sense.

So it needs to be measured up against what they spent. I thought it's like a competition only to see which movie sold out more.

Pathan deleivered really well. I think Jawan might even go over that.

PR and marketing teams will use it as a competition tool just to show off and one up each other, or the previous blockbuster.

I recently read on Reddit that an all time blockbuster was any movie that made four times its investment at the box office, and as such in the last 20 years only Gadar has been an all time blockbuster. But we’ve certainly seen that phrase used for many movies over the years. PR and marketing changes perceptions all the time.

Jawaan will open with record breaking numbers. Rest is wait and see. Teaser actually looked intriguing albeit a bit cliched with the father/son revenge angle. And SRK is back on top after Pathan. At the same time Pathan had the novelty of being SRK’s come back after 4 years, plus hit songs. Jawaan doesn’t.
