Why RRKPK is not becoming Hit - Page 3

One can't only put one finger on one reason (= 'wound'), basically one needs both hands.

Some had been mentioned:

- not a Mass/masala movie (yet doing good/decent money in the amount of likewise movies after Covid-times)

- 'forced' chemistry between Alia and Ranveer (contrary to the natural one of Kajol-SRK), especially in remade scenes

- music not really widely loved

- unnecessary lip-locking and EMA in a 'family-oriented' movie

- a kind of 'preachy' female lead ??? / a "forced" wokeness (have still to watch the movie to get this impression)

- disconnection of Karan "on the grassroot level", "living in his little bubble" (I agree to that...)

- Karan having got the off-turning reputation of payed pr and inflating numbers

- 'betwixt and between' - not really mass - not really woke

I would add an exaggerated promotion of Alia and Ranveer and a budget too high for this genre.

There was nothing in storyline which was new, screenplay and more importantly music was weak. The only reason it has worked this much is due to some of the comedy which landed quite beautifully. Otherwise it surely would have flopped.

Who thought that Alia-Ranveer would make a good pair? Their forced chemistry didn't click well and as for the songs it was average 🤔

You may disagree, but for me this movie is like sasta version of Tu Jhooti Main Makkar with just different actors 😆

Not enough testosterone and angry men roid raging. Too, woke. Nation would rather sleep.

Failed because

- Main romantic track is shrill, its Tum Kya Mile but makes you want to say Tum Kyun Mile

- Lead actress is a non-looker who looks like she has Rani Mukerjee from mid-2000's hangover

- Movie is not as good as some past Dharma films

I wish Rani Mukerjee and Ranveer were in the same generation. They would've set the box office on fire with this movie. Young Rani would've nailed this role.
