If people think Gadar's Hyper Mania is because of some political climate.....they don't know Gadar and the way it connected with people, at all. Also why is there such a negative connotation attached with "Nationalism"? It's a positive thing.

Bolne do. Takleef mein hai!😆

Nationalism almost always works. It has nothing to do with the political climate. It’s why a Chak De India works, it’s why the only dialogue anyone remembers in all of Namaste London is that iconic dialogue by Akki about India. So no, I don’t agree with point 3.

You may confound nationalism with patriotism...the two movies you cite have to do with patriotism (positively connoted)...regimes with fascist tendencies (like current India) prefer nationalism (connoted as aggressive and negative since the dividing and authocratic fascist regimes around the world)...

And who is going to decide what is positive and what is negative? The elite behinds?

You can't be serious, can you?

As for Pathaan...did you even watch it? Or the Tiger movies? Or Hrithik's war?

I don't know how much Gadar 2 really is nationalistic (or more leaning towards patriotic). But for Pathaan...nope...not nationalistic (although the beginning of the movie could have suggested) but very patriotic.

Being a patriot is inclusive of the people who live in India...it's not dividing...Chak De is a glorious example...

The current nationalism calls people anti-national who are profoundly patriotic (and really worried about what happened to India)...the Indian government doesn't work for the people in India but for their own agendas....it isn't patriotic.

If you have to ask this question, you've already made your decision...

I would say (instead of "consensus") = those in power (if you don't agree/accept/follow you're against - hence you're the enemy)
