Why Alia Can’t Deliver Gadar Level Numbers?

Proof is out there for all to see. Since we have declared her as the Meryl Streep of Bollywood and her husband compared her to Amitabh Bachchan. If she’s the best then why can’t she deliver big numbers then? If she’s the best thing in the world…. Where are the numbers then? None of movies have earned 200+ crores. And her big Karan Johar directorial failed to reach even 150, it’s around 120 I think. Her box office collections are actually not that different than most actresses. Other actresses have delivered larger BO numbers with Karan.

Say it. I want you to say she’s overrated, overhyped and nothing but a PR made so called superstar induced by bored nepo enablers at Dharma. So what’s the excuse now ? ticket printer wasn’t working? Accounting dept made error? Movie doesn’t need to earn anything because Netflix paid off everything ?

Well I agree with you mostly. But I don't know why a comparison to Bachchan means you will be a blockbuster machine? Since his hit ratio after starring in 155 movies is 32%.

This movie with a budget of 185cr is still struggling to hit 125cr after 19 days

Gadar 2 with less than half the budget of 75cr has made 135cr in first 3 days

Based on the budget..this movie is not even average

But then karan plays with everything..how bramastra was declared a hit with 400 plus budget and making 230cr..

Movies like Gadar 2 show what actual true success is when you talk wrt budget and BO..just the way verdicts are supposed to be..keeping satellite, digital yada yada separate. A true blue success (take Gadar for example) never talks about recovering budget thru satellitle etc..you know it has tanked when these are released through the PR team

He also engages in a lot of corporate / block bookings..despite that collections struggle to hit 125cr..where as movies which really hit the chord..without any of these block booking..make 135cr in 3 days that too all organic..

It only shows that perception is created but at the end when you have something like gadar 2 releasing shortly after..you realize the clear difference between actual organic success and PR/ media driven success

I further conclude it by saying that most of today's stars inc Alia are mostly all hype..they are PR made / media driven stars but when it comes to BO..they certainly are nowhere close where their PR hypes them to be..RRKPK opening at 10.5cr (with a budget of 185cr) says it all!!

True ! He has one all time blockbuster under his name which is Sholay ? Sorry that is out of his not 155 films but over 200 films. Clearly Ranbir forgot to use his head while complimenting his wife again. 🤪

Well I guess Aloo sort of gave a hit last year if you count RRR before that she also had her 15 minute role in Gully Boy. If Bollywood wants to survive it should start doing some serious auditions for new talent. Look for both acting and dancing talent. We have only had two international beauty pageant winners. But whatever happened to taking pretty Miss Indias like Juhi who also had acting talent. Audition models to see if they have acting talent.
