Gadar 2 doesn't seem anything similar. IMO, if it succeeds, it will be because it's a propaganda movie.

The funny part is, I have zero intention of watching this movie. The trailer looked like something out of the 80s and I don’t think I have enough patience to watch Sunny, Amisha or that weird looking new guy for that long on a big screen. But the excuses that are coming out are hilarious. Movie release bhi nahi hui and people are contributing any potential success to “desh ka mahol” BS as per usual.🙄

Soft and quiet ROMANCE. Yes, it was a part of it. I remember the part of the movie very well. Actually, the entire story revolved around his love for his wife.

I guess we all remember what we like to remember. 😊

I don't get your problem TBH. Gadar 1 was in fact centered around the love story. The man went to Pakistan for his wife. Yes, there was pro India dialogue, but he was acting primarily from love.

Gadar 2 trailer makes it seem like out and out propaganda.

Anyway, you seem intent on saying Gadar 1 succeeded because it was anti Pakistan. All right. You win. Gadar 1 worked because it was anti Pakistan. I really don't feel like discussing a Sunny Deol movie of all things. Heck, only Salman and Sanjay Dutt rank lower in my estimation.

Yes it's a low budget film with no big scale VFX. Maybe a little bit of propaganda & a lot of Jingoism. Yes, it doesn't star your favorite current stars. But it's still a riot. And nobody cares what you think 🌹

Forget PVR, here in USA seats are filling up fast. Already a couple of shows are sold out. So much for the movie with an actor who no one wants to see.

Sunny Deol still has a very solid fan base. Instead of focusing on his flops people need to realize that he's the only actor from the 80s whose still doing lead roles. Producers are still investing in solo Sunny Deol films while his contemporaries like Sanjay D, Anil Kapoor, Govinda etc moved on to supporting characters 15 years ago. Hits/Flops are dependent on so much more than an actor. The scale of the film, the director, the other cast, the producer. Why would a Ranveer Singh film like Jayeshbhai Jordaar open to 3.25 cr otherwise and a Simbaa to 20 cr. Small films open small. Boxoffice 101.
