One thing I noticed for the first time. I have to go back to gully boy and see but Alia wore such high heels all the time throughout the movie and even during the promotions. Doesn’t her back hurt?

I think KJO shortchanged Aloo in this film. It is completely a RS film . His character is the backbone of the film. Ofcourse Kjo will go ahead and lobby for her and offer her best Dharma scripts in future as he loves her . But in this film, the best was offered to RS.

The best was given to Alia. She was elevated in every scene like a starplus bahu. Even in the last clash scene the way she pushes away Rocky’s fathers’ hand and yet walks out from there having the last word. Rocky doesn’t even complete his sentences while she was allowed to give a whole speech. There were a lot of scenes where Rocky was shortchanged. With a lesser actor, Rocky would’ve come across as a dumb annoying useless sidekick in a female centric movie. .Ranveer with his performance made it what it became. I bet even Alia and Karan were shocked with the outcome. They really thought Alia will walk away with all the accolades with her woke character.

Nah man. Rani was borderline annoying. Rocky was written so nicely. He was endearing.

Also Rocky's emo scenes with Rani's bong fam , the dola re sequence....RS and the writers both nailed it.

Aloo's scenes with Rocky ki mummy and didi were so generic. Typical independent, fiesty woman trying to give bhashan to the supressed. So many movies and tv shows have tried that trope.

Aloo was given 2nd fiddle purposely in the movie by kjo. He was confident this gal will turn this role into gold . Rocky’s character well written , best dialogues , best one liners, even whole dola reh sequence, even the family he switched to were hip & hapoening than boring randhawa 😆hardly a single negative review of aloo to be found considering her character was nothing to write about , yet she scores . Each and every scene she gives her best… perfection ! only good actors ability to rise above an average written character and makes his/ her presence felt. Only that one solid scene was given to her in the end , and we all know 😆HISTORY, like rip all!Well done aloo !

What I am saying is it is what the actor does with the scope they are allowed. Rani tried to be endearing to his mom and sister in that singing scene,but the way Alia caught the pitch of the character didn’t quite deliver. For instance , that smug look she gives them eating the cake, it would make anyone want to just die of embarrassment. And the way she asks his sister to never sing anywhere else because of her mix up of the lyrics, it all showed her need to be above them not as someone who was trying to be one of them. It’s the way Alia enacted it. I really think she thought Rani will come across as a strong woman who would be lauded as the next feminist icon.
